From the Macau International Airport, we were told by the airport information service agent to take MT1 bus (fare MOP6 per person) at Aeroporto de Macau station (澳门机场站) to Macau Peninsula. We got off at R das Lorchas station (火船头街站), which is located outside of Macau Masters Hotel (万事发酒店). We then took the zebra cross to the opposite road and saw Hou Kong Hotel (濠江酒店). We entered a small lane (between Hou Kong Hotel and car wash shop) and it is known as Travessa das virtudes (道德巷). From there, we kept on walking until we reached the first T-junction. We turned left and entered Travessa da Caldeira (蓬莱新巷). We continued our walk until we saw the big sign board of Man Va Hotel (文华酒店), then we turned right and walked several steps, Ole Tai Sam Un hotel was on our left side. The traditional bakery shops are located next to Ole Tai Sam Un, including Choi Heong Yuen (咀香园), San Lin Heong (新莲香) and Kok Kei (钜记). Next to Kok Kei, is the famous noodle house, Loja Sopa de Fita Cheong Kei (祥记面家). The porridge shop, Sam Un Loja de Canja (三元粥品) is located opposite of Ole Tai Sam Un. ||||We stayed in a standard double room for two nights. Refundable deposit (MOP200) is required during check-in. MYR currency is accepted (We paid MYR100). We were provided with one sleeping pillow each. The bed was comfortable to sleep on. There are a writing desk and a stool located opposite of the bed, with a flat-screen tv on top of the desk. The free WIFI service with password is provided. The connection was smooth. The air-conditioned room is comfortable although the size of the room is rather small. Nevertheless, we were fine with the room size because we did not have large suitcases. ||||Room amenities included two complimentary bottled water, tea-making facility, bedside lamp, wardrobe, room safe, storage cabinet, and telephone. There are three power outlets in the room for charging electrical gadgets. The ensuite bathroom was clean. There is a washing basin, a hot/cold standing shower, toilet, large mirror, body towel, hand towel, and floor mat. Toiletries such as shampoo, body wash, soap, toilet paper, vanity kit, shower cap, shaving kit, dental kit and comb are provided. ||||Our room rate did not include breakfast because we wanted to explore the local food nearby. Buffet breakfast is provided by the hotel with a fee (HKD38/MOP40). The breakfast is served at the lobby from 8.30am to 11.00am. The only lift in the building is situated next to the reception counter. The staffs were polite and friendly during our stay. They greeted us whenever they saw us. They offered us umbrella on rainy day. Overall, we had a truly pleasant stay in...
Read moreGood location for a decent price. We booked through booking.com but couldn’t make it to the hotel as we got stuck in the typhoon in Hong Kong, we tried calling the hotel to ask if we could change the booking to the next night, but the phone number was either broken or the wrong number as the only person that answers is an ai voice called alyssia that says she doesn’t know who i am and doesn’t want to talk to me. So then when we turned up and asked if they could just swap the booking they said they couldn’t and we had to pay again for the room. The rooms smelt and felt a bit damp but seemed quite clean especially in the bathroom which was good. Basically we had to check out early in the morning for a flight and we asked if they could book us a taxi in advance, they said to just come down when we were ready and they’d phone one then. We went down at 4am and there was nobody there… we had to go out and find a taxi ourselves which was thankfully easy as they are everywhere at all hours but just was a bit disappointing, especially as we had...
Read moreHotel is located in the centre of shopping & foodtrippings. Few minutes to Senado Square and Ruins of St.Paul, local and international brand stores, and again streetfoods and restaurants at every side, nook and corner of the streets. Few banks are nearby, as well as ATMs, and pharmacies are stationed at every side of the streets. There are also public bus stops at the main street (just next street) so one can take the buses to go around Macau. There are also nearby casinos in walking distance (around 10-15mins that's a healthy option to do plus saves up money). All in all this hotel, albeit small and situated in a narrow area of the old town, is worth the money spend (cheaper than most 2 star hotels) and a perfect location for a...
