Long story short: not good for the price and restaurant tries to cut corners wherever possible. The water isn't free, food is very overpriced for small portions, vegetable masala is made with frozen vegetables, kadai chicken is full of bones, and the mango lassi was filled to the brim with ice. Full review: The overall environment of this restaurant is decent. It has a warm and pleasing atmosphere, but the food was objectively bad. The service could also be improved. Firstly, we were told that water was not provided unless paid for. On top of that, most of the items on the menu are spicy, so you're basically forced to buy a drink. When we came, we were the only ones in the restaurant. We ordered the $95 vegetable masala (my friend is vegetarian) and the kadai chicken ($115) as well as 2 shares of naan bread ($80 total) and a mango lassi ($60). Off the bat, the portions were too small. The dishes we ordered came in children's sized bowls. On top of that, we could tell that the vegetable masala was made with frozen mixed vegetables and the sauce tasted store bought like it was from a box. As for the kadai chicken, it probably had 2 decently sized chunks of chicken and the rest was bones, big and small with some meat on them. It's okay to have some bones in kadai chicken kadai, but the amount of bones I found was definitely not normal. Since the sauce is opaque and thick, it's hard to see them, so I had to be very careful while eating. It surprised me how many tiny, sharp chicken bones were in the dish. The aftermath is pictured in the photos below. The naan was okay, but they could have provided more for the price. It was $10 for each quarter piece of naan. We got the mango lassi to cut through the spiciness of the dishes and it did help with that, but it was quite small and full of ice. After this, we definitely got the impression that the restaurant was trying to cutting corners and save money. Overall, the food didn't taste bad (except for the vegetable masala), but that was likely because we were so hungry. Lastly, when paying for the meal, we gave HKD in cash and they gave MOP in change which is worth a little bit less. So, we had to ask for change in the currency we paid in. Considering how much their food costs, it's a bit odd for them to be going to such extremes to save money.

the environment is beautiful. the food was exceptional, It's surpise me that I like the veg pakoras because I usually don't like mint and vegetables but this is so perfect together. Coconut prawns curry is so creamy and a little bit spicy but I still love it. The chicken biryani was my favorite because the chicken was so tender and so tasty. This is also my first time to try Indian cuisine and I will probably come back, the servers are very attentive even it's a busy evening. and also the chefs were so helpfull because at first I really don't know what I should order but they help me a lot. I also order the fresh mint lemonade that I forgot to take picture because it's so yummy that I finished it right away. 😅 The portion of the foods is good for sharing, my boyfriend and I enjoy the dinner a lot. Probably come back and want to try their shisha. 😌😌

Do not be put off by the shabby exterior, as Indian Spice is certainly worth a look if your a fan of the food. However this restaurant operates a rather pricey menus that does not necessarily equal generous portions... As mentioned, portion sizes are adequate, although be aware that poppadoms are sold individually, whereas typically they are free/super cheap in many other Indian restaurants. The menu is well balanced, and Vegan options are available, as well as tailored versions of non-vegan dishes to make them animal free. The Flavours are great, and everything tends to be on the spicy side, so be prepared! The restaurant interior is clean, trendy and up to date, and overall a welcoming environment. Not necessarily unmissable, but a good break from other cuisines that are more common to the area.

Their naans and rotis were terrible, the texture was odd and portion was tiny. Curries were ok, nothing exciting about them. Was expecting a higher quality for the price they charge. The meat was well cooked though, quite tender. The spiced basmati rice was the only delightful dish, very fragrant and exploding with flavours of cumin and coriander.

The food wasn’t bad enough to contribute to a 2 star. In fact, the service itself did. There was only one lady waitressing in the restaurant. She couldn’t speak Cantonese first of all, secondly she didn’t seem to want to serve us at all. She appeared impatient to explain us the dishes when we asked, and her attitude was unfriendly. She was busy when we entered and one of the chef behind the glass counter got us seated. The waitress later came over and questioned us as if we hadn’t make a reservation? Not to mention the place itself was almost empty. Didn’t feel welcoming by the way she served us throughout.

It was a nice little restaurant with great atmosphere, but the service really ruined...
