I recently visited the POLY MGM MUSEUM and was captivated by the incredible collection on display. The highlight was the 4 Bronze Zodiac Heads from the Old Summer Palace, crafted during Emperor Qianlong’s reign. Seeing them up close was awe-inspiring—the intricate details, from the textures to the folds and fur, were breathtaking. The immersive LED screens added a magical touch, transporting me back to the grandeur of the Qing Dynasty.
The exhibition, “The Maritime Silk Road - Discover the Mystical Seas and Encounter the Treasures of the Ancient Trade Route,”featured 15 sets of grade-one cultural relics and 228 exquisite artifacts. Each piece told a story of cultural exchange and historical significance, making me feel deeply connected to China’s rich heritage.
The experience was completely free! The museum’s modern design and interactive displays made the visit both educational and engaging. If you’re in Macau, don’t miss this chance to explore these...
Read moreWe went to the Poly MGM Museum for the Maritime Silk Road exhibition featuring the bronze busts that were once the guardian features of Yuanmingyuan in Beijing but were lost to the eight alliance nation forces that invaded Beijing in the 19th century. I felt incredibly thankful because entrance was free. Surely there were a lot of tourists and there was also crowd control but we got a fair chance to admire the busts. You can reserve tickets online or get the tickets on site. We went on a Monday so no need to reserve...
Read moreWe were having lunch at Rossio restaurant in MGM Macau in November and was told by the nice waitresse that there was this exhibition in the hotel undergoing soft opening. It was not a huge museum but very thoughtfully designed. The gargantuan LED screen at the entrance was spectacular, breathtaking, and mesmerising. There was also the display of four recovered bronze animal heads from the looted Beijing Yuenmingyuen in all their glory. That alone should justify a trip to Macau for anyone who loves Chinese artefacts. We were told that the Poly MGM would be a permanent feature of the hotel, but the exhibits...
