Restaurante Litoral receives rather mixed reviews here on TripAdvisor but we have mostly had very good Portuguese meals at this institutional favourite here in Macau, including a recent lunch during the Chinese New Year holiday.
During this lunch we ordered a favourite of ours the Arroz de Pato (Duck Rice) with a side of Chorizo (Portuguese sausage). The duck rice is a fairly large portion, not as much duck included in this last serving but the dish still tasted very good. They bake the rice in duck fat, giving it a really nice flavour. We like to add some extra chorizo (mentioned above) to give some spiciness to the duck rice.
We also like the traditional egg pudding at Restaurante Litoral. This pudding is soft, smooth, just sweet enough, its a nice dessert to finish meals here.
Seating area is large and decorated in traditional Portuguese manner. Menu includes pictures with English so its easy to pick out what you want. Staff also speak English so its easy to order as well. Meals are served in a timely fashion and that staff are...

Dont be fooled by the $38 water bottle. Just ask for tap water if you want instead.
The free buns were not warm. It was tasty though.
The cream clams were extremely tasty. I think they over stirred it or something because theres a lot of loose shell bits. You'd bit into clam meat thinking it was sand but instead the piece was outside of the clam so it came from the shell breaking while cooking. There were many instances of that unfortunately. The sauce had so much flavor and I would have pour it on everything if it weren't for the shell pieces.
The beef tongue was superb. The tongue was so tender. The sauce didnt have much flavor though.
The fruit salad was just so underwhelming. It was just the same type as in cha chaan tengs.
I also got some portuguese vegetarian soup and...
