Cha's Restaurant — Restaurant in Shanghai

HK style cha chaan teng, as close as you can get in Shanghai.

Surprise with this gem, this is the most authentic feel for a cct that you can get out of HK. Deco is old school cct with booth seating arrangement or the sharing table. food menu is straight out of HK cct, taste is not too bad and within expectation. Even the drinks are served without sugar (and you have to add it in yourself, HK style 😆).

Able to make reservation, or otherwise you have to battle the long queue outside. Beware...very lousy phone signal...

It is a classical Shanghainess Hongkong Restaurant. Highly rated, it is not really authentic in term of flavor, which might suits more to Western where it is quite sweet.

But the things I concern is that since I have been coming to visit the restaurant for several years, it is getting worse. Who know whats next?

It is definite fine to have a try/causal lunch during the gaps of work. But waiting in a line for it, not quite...

Small cantine often overcrowded with a waiting list. Prices are fine and not too high. As soon as the order is placed, the meals arrive quickly. The menu is in chinese and English but most of waitresses don't speak english. Be smart :) The food is yummy and especially the lemon chicken. I really...
