The Shanghai Bund, often referred to simply as "The Bund," is a famous waterfront area in Shanghai, China. It is located along the western bank of the Huangpu River in the Huangpu District of Shanghai. The Bund is renowned for its historical and architectural significance, making it one of the city's most iconic landmarks. Key features of the Shanghai Bund include: 1. Historical Architecture: The Bund is lined with a stunning array of historical buildings that showcase various architectural styles, including neoclassical, Art Deco, and Gothic Revival. Many of these structures date back to the early 20th century when the area was a major financial center. 2. Scenic Views: From the Bund, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the modern skyline on the opposite side of the river, including iconic skyscrapers like the Oriental Pearl Tower and the Shanghai Tower. This stark contrast between old and new Shanghai is one of the Bund's most captivating features. 3. Promenade: The Bund features a promenade that stretches for about 1.5 kilometers, making it an ideal place for leisurely walks and sightseeing. It's a popular spot for both tourists and locals, especially during the evening when the city's skyline is illuminated. 4. Historical Significance: The Bund played a significant role in Shanghai's history as a major trading and financial hub during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It was home to numerous foreign banks and trading houses, which is reflected in the architecture of the buildings. 5. Cultural Attractions: Along the Bund, you'll find several cultural attractions, including the Bund History Museum, which provides insights into the area's history, and statues commemorating prominent figures in Chinese history. Visiting the Shanghai Bund is a must for anyone exploring Shanghai, as it offers a unique blend of history, culture, and modernity, all set against the backdrop of the Huangpu River. It's a prime location for photography, taking in the city's skyline, and experiencing the vibrant atmosphere of Shanghai.

Amsterdam river is romantic, Singapore Marina bay is fantastic and Shanghai Bund embraces both! This is one of the most amazing thing I ever see. Collaboration of classic and modern buildings with spectacular lightings have created a unique experience. Take a boat tour for RMB 150 & add another RMB 50 for VIP top roof seat at the boat gives you amazing view. Boat tour at this Huangpu river takes about 30-40 minutes. It will be better if this place is added with food courts with Halal restaurant also :)

Very scenic and historical place to be in Shanghai. The night scene is simply fantastic with the buildings on both shoreline lit up, giving all a spectacular atmosphere. The Shanghai Tower on the other side is really outstanding in pink lighting.

Top 3 places to visit in Shanghai.

Take my advice - come at night when the lights are on and you get dazzled by the magnificence of the place. Across the river, Pudong Lujiazui’s towering office buildings in the financial center beacons together with Pearl TV Tower.

Easily accessible via subway, it better than trying to catch a cab or...
