It’s undoubtedly worth a visit as one of the largest Starbucks stores in the world. That being said, I found this experience pales in compared to the Tokyo and Seattle reserve roasters.
For starters. The ordering system is kind of confusing because there are sometimes employees who can take your order via mobile iPad for those using Alipay but other times those employees are nowhere to be found so you just have to wait in the long line at the main bar.
They have some brunch specials which include a drink up to 68rmb and a breakfast plate (4 to choose from) that is served on a pita like substance that’s not a pita nor a flatbread (hard to describe lol see the pictures attached). All for 158rmb so a pretty good deal!
The most negative part of my experience concerns this one employee named Lilly. After I paid for my Starbucks merch at a different register, I asked for some tissue paper so I can wrap the gifts, but he didn’t have any so he directed me to Lillys register. I politely asked for some tissue paper, and without saying a word, folded some tissue paper, handed it to me and returned to whatever she was doing on her laptop. But I wasn’t done, so I continued and asked her for a bigger bag/more bags so I can gift bag souvenirs for friends. Again she performed the task without a single word or eye contact. I was shocked by her blatantly rude attitude. She made it clear that I was obstructing her from something she’d rather be doing. Given that she had no interest in providing customer service, she should probably be fired so she can spend all her time shopping online or whatever she...

Read moreAn impressive coffee playground. Located in an upscale area, this Starbucks has 2 open-designed floors and is 30,000 sq. ft. / 2,787 sq. meters big.
At the center of the first floor is the bean roasting facilities, packaging station, and large Chinese-themed bronze cask that houses their nitrogen-infused tea drinks. There's a large gift shop, 2 coffee bars, a bakery counter and deli.
The second floor has TEAVANA, which is just as impressive as their coffee bars. Along with tea, the second floor has a cold brew coffee area, a pastries and bakery counter, another brew station and coffee bar as well as a roaster.
There’s a decent amount of seats on the second floor for people to sit and enjoy their drinks, sipping to the occasional sound of coffee beans being shot through the pipes above.
Their menu is quite extensive.
We sat and drank a "Cold Brew Lemon Sour" (Cold brew, maple syrup, whisky and lemon. Garnished with a Luxardo Maraschino cherry, lemon twist and Demerara sugar) and a "The Bund Mist" (Nitro cold brew infused with vanilla bean syrup, topped with Demerara cold foam and finished with a dash of cascara sugar). Both were fantastic.
Really a...
