So far, very unimpressed. While they go out of their way to accentuate how expensive they are, the actual services and amenities are rather mediocre. The Marriott City Center, at half the price, boasts a nicer lobby, a much much nicer breakfast buffet and a more convenient location. Also, while this hotel offers and provides housekeeping services twice a day, since I've checked in, my room has been serviced four times and yet the same long black hair remains in the middle of the bathtub. Seeing as I do not have long hair, it would appear to still be here from the previous guest. I have been using the shower stall and keeping an eye on the bathtub, curiously wondering if it will ever get cleaned. (And yes I checked that it was in fact a hair and not a scratch) Seeing as my previous experiences with the Four Seasons have always been enjoyable, I am rather disappointed than in a city where even your average Marriott boats amazing five star amenities, the Four Seasons is in no way better... Sitting here and experiencing buyers remorse for spending twice as much to stay here over the much nicer Marriott. Avoid unless you consider it an important status symbol simply because of its logo...
Update: After multiple terrible experiences, I decided to check out and go to another hotel. Fat chance. The front desk told me to call Fine Hotels & Resorts for a refund. When I called them, they said only the hotel can process it. The hotel manager said he would contact his supervisor, but that he wouldn't be able to get it done until the next morning. Five star...

Booked through Amex Platinum for complimentary breakfast. The breakfast was great -- they even had a chef on-site to cook eggs how you like. Great assortment of fruit, cereal, and hot dishes.
WiFi allowed me to use YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, without a block.
Celebrations: One of the best pedicures I've ever had -- so detailed! Good spa experience; very cool massage rooms and attentive massage therapists. Large Suites Welcoming doormen, great Housekeeping: they even came in the afternoon to replace flowers in the room. Awesome amenities -- L'occitane products in bathroom. Good location, near Metro line and shopping.
Concerns: Maintenance and overall care for the hotel. This property is aging fast. Dirty, ragged carpets, very outdated furniture that had visible wear and stains. The rooms seem aged and...
Read moreThis is my first stay at a Four Seasons and I've heard about how luxurious these hotels are and this meets and then some. The lobby layout beautifully appointed and easy to get around. The staff are always very cordial and attentive. The room I stayed in was roomy with a full size bath, L couch lounging area and a desk. Room lighting was good once you figure out that switch controls what light. Panoramic views of the Shanghai cityscape are fine when not...
