I walked in as this place as they had sake (which is a tough find in Colombia). They also had one bottle from Kyoto…
To make a long story short.. I was a little skeptical on Japanese food in Colombia since I’m from Asia.. but decided was worth trying.
Samuel the waiter tried so hard to communicate with me in little English and my broken Spanish to highlight the various types of sake and prices for the size carafe.
He also recommended a few good dishes such as prawn roll (see picture), the beef rice which was delicious and crème brûlée (which was a bit sweet), so if you do not like sugar def take the panna cotta instead.
The manager Kevin was a gem as I was difficult with the sake and asked for the Japanese type they had and if I could try (generally they are not allowed to let anyone taste, but he accommodated). Their US sake is actually quite decent. ..
When I didn’t finish my food and asked one of the waiters to take it away for packing .. he misunderstood as he didn’t understand English and threw away my leftovers(which was about half left). Kevin was kind enough to make another dish for me to take away.
This place truly blew me away with service and going the extra...

Long Review: Me and my wife are big sushi fans. We've been living in Bogota since Jan 2017 and have been disappointed in the sushi options in Bogota including the chains PF Chang's, Teriyaki and WOK. It was until we had dinner at Chef Oscar Herrera's restaurant Trinidad (by the way a must visit! - It's a Mediterranean Colombian fusion restaurant) where Chef Oscar H. came to our table and introduced himself... Anyway the topic came up of Sushi. Chef Oscar H. recommended Watakushi. Over the last three months Watakushi has been our restaurant to get our weekly sushi fix.
Only complaint: They don't serve on Rappi (Delivery app) past 6pm, you have to call the restaurant directly and they'll deliver the food to you...
Read moreThe place looks nice, the concept is good, the food isn't impressive but neither is bad, tasty, simple. The list menu is terrible, you really need patience or to know ahead what you want, very large and in small characters. The music is some inaudible noise on the background and goes fast from one style to another.
Service is great and helpful, if it wasn't for them we wouldn't have been able to choose something. The plates are smaller than Bogota restaurants average, as an example the spring rolls they say is 4 pieces, it is 2 pieces cut in 4 very small pieces.
Overall a good experience but there's room for improvement.
