AREPAPAS — Restaurant in Medellín

First of all, the arepas were not very good. I ordered the Arepa Classica without chicken. It barely had any cheese and had one singular grain of corn. My mom’s friend also ordered that and said the same. The arepas themselves were lacking in flavor and butter. They were overall dry. No one in our party found the arepas very enjoyable. Secondly, and most importantly, they made us sick. The next day, my stomach was hurting and I had diarrhea. How do I know it was the arepas? Well, my sister whom did not eat anything was not sick. And my grandmother, who did not go, was fine. My cousin, aunt, and my mom’s cousin were sick. My aunt was even throwing up. We had a family reunion and my mom’s cousin was not able to go for he felt very ill. I also was not...

Cool place where they cook on the grill in front of you with a street view in a great neighborhood. I think they had just reopened their restaurant and may have had some issues with food in stock, as any of the arepas with vegetables were out. The all meat arepas were very filling and the sauces made all the difference. But hey, you get a lot of food for a good price. This place could be an even better experience if beer or cocktails...

Realmente a mi esposo y a mi no nos gustó. No volveremos por las siguientes razones.

1: Pedimos Jugo: Y la respuesta de quién nos atendió es que no podía ofrecernos jugo porque quien los hacía estaba muy ocupado. Que tomáramos gaseosa. Pedimos arepas y papas: Las arepas estaban buenas, no excelentes. Adicionalmente, las papas estaban como refritas, muy tostadas y se les veía que fue en aceite muy reutilizado. Cuando no las sirvieron nos dijeron que no había pico de gallo, así no más. Lo ideal era habernos dicho en el momento del pedido con que ingredientes no contaban para tomar la decisión si las pedíamos o no, o cambiamos el pedido. Por otra parte los precios son muy altos para el producto y servicio que nos ofrecieron y cargan la propina automáticamente a la factura, sin tener en cuenta si a uno le gustó el servicio o no. Si la atención, el servicio y todo hubiera estado excelente, no importa cuánto es el precio, pues si uno queda satisfecho. Si vamos a comparar nos quedamos con Arepepa.
