Located in Laureles in an old but pretty paisa house. The entry has decoration and furniture is kind of antique but cute tho. As soon as I sat down the waiter asked me to scan the menu. I ordered “Cold brew con cardamomo/ cardamom cold brew cost 6K pretty much $1.6” “Quiché con tocineta/Quiche with bacon cost 12k more or less $3.2 Includes a salad with a really tasty dressing” “Creme brûlée con agraz/type of local berry I don’t know how much it cost”. I liked the the food taste, really affordable. But what I really didn’t like was the service because each waiter/waitress was not asking what do you want, I had to chased them. They say it is a coffee place/library so I wanted to work there, but music was really loud, not good to concentrate. Finally, I wanted to pay again nobody around so I had to almost go to the kitchen. They told me is 28k but they didn’t even ask if I wanted to include tip, otherwise I would say no. To sum, I think the dessert value was 10k or they charged me the tip with no asking first (here in Colombia is not mandatory to leave tip, I consider as bad manner not to ask first). At long last, because of food 4, but service 2...
Read moreLet's see how many cliches we can fit into one review:
Cafe Cliche is a hipster French cafe/restaurant in Laureles. It is simple yet elegant (1), with a funky, cozy interior (2).
The menus del dia Kim and I had there were to die for (3). Offering vegetarian and meat options both for 14,000 COP, there’s something for everyone (4).
We had both soups and they were delectable (5). The cream of spinach was silky smooth (7) and the chickpea, pork fat, white and green onion soup was pure nom! (8)
My beef was cooked to perfection (9) and the fried potatoes were carb-tastic (10). Kim had the vegetarian option, which was a cornucopia (11) of flavors and colors.
And we washed it all down (12) with a pineapple-berry mixed juice.
While it’s not part of the lunch special, you might want to save room for (13) one of their decadent desserts (14) like the the volcan au chocolat. It quite simply melts in your mouth (15).
[That’s 15 cliches. And I mean every one]
Final Score: 9 (8 Value, 10 Quality)

Read moreI've eaten here 10-15 times. Overall it's good. Baguette is amazing. Mediflette is mediocre, I think they used Colombian cheese (I'm not a fan of this) and was hoping it would be like a tartiflette with fresh Mediterranean influence, but it was not very tasty and poorly presented. Coffee is ok, I like being indulgent and getting it with cream. Nice vibe inside, apart from one waitress who I think gets comments on here a lot, but after a few visits she improved her Parisienne-rude attitude. Deserts are great, especially passionfruit cheesecake and chocolate mousse (I get a mousse every time I eat there now). My main problem is the lunch menu. 2 options that never change. Soup or quiche. Both are ok but wouldn't...
