Stepping into Café Revolución in the Laureles area of Medellín feels like entering a haven of culinary delight. This gem offers the perfect blend of outdoor and indoor seating, ensuring a comfortable atmosphere regardless of your preference. I’ve been fortunate to experience their hospitality two days in a row, and it’s been nothing short of amazing each time.
The food is a true standout. From the delectable breakfast tacos filled with perfectly cooked ham, fluffy eggs, and melted cheese, to the ‘big breakfast’ that is a feast for the senses – complete with a fruit salad, French toast, pancakes, and a savory omelette sprinkled with just the right touch of herbs. Each dish is a testament to the care and quality Café Revolución puts into their food.
Pairing my meals with a glass of fresh orange juice and a uniquely flavorful dirty chilly chai was the perfect way to start my mornings. It’s not just a meal here; it’s a celebration of life, a treat everyone deserves to experience. The service is as delightful as the food, making you feel right at home.

Other cafés could have adopted this kind of system if they wanted to be efficient. But most are just stuck in habit. Revolución stands out because it’s intentional — they know who their customers are, and they’ve designed around that.
There are plenty of tables where you can actually sit with a laptop and focus. That might sound basic, but it’s rare — and it’s a quiet sign that they care.
In a city where many places focus more on the image than the experience, Café Revolución delivers both. It’s one of the few cafés in Medellín that actually works —...

Updated 1/6/2023: I will say the serve has dropped off in recent months.
Updated 1/23/2023: We decided to try Cafe Revolución one last time because we thought maybe they had hired some bad help. Same lady working again. We stood there for three minutes without acknowledging us (with the exception of a disapproving look). We won't be back unless the owner is there. He seems to keep them on point.
Updated 6/23/2023: They have been able to turn it around. They seem to have enough help now and the new staff is attentive and friendly. The coffee has turned around and is no longer bitter as it was before and more like it was when I moved here a few years ago. Keep up the good work.
