This hotel is located in one of the safest neighbourhoods of Medellin, The Laureles. If you are looking for any type of food or drink, google it and you will find it 3-10 minutes walking away from this hotel. For example, the famous Mondongo restaurant is 7 minutes walking in a straight line. Any type of Colombian or western coffee is 3-5 minutes walking away. The Unicentro Shopping Mall is 15 minutes walking away. The hotel decoration is amazing … I loved the fish tank and guest sitting area on the second floor. The daily free buffet breakfast was very good … average compared to other hotels. My only issue is that the lead servant insists on serving hot drinks by himself. He did not allow to pour my own coffee. Oh… I forgot … the coffee is tasteless … hence, I opted to hot chocolate. The room is clean … the bed cover had a stain on it. There is an air condition unit and TV. There is a mini fridge. I liked the washroom despite the awkward shape. My biggest two issues with the room are: there is no Safe 😢 … and the room does not have windows and when you turn off the only light in the room which is the ceiling light, it is very dark and you cannot see anything. I encourage the property management to add a safe in the room and add a table light. Maybe property management needs to sleep a night in the room to live my experience. The reception staff were very friendly. Though, no one...
Read moreWe would have rated this hotel at 5* but a checking out issue spoilt the whole stay for us!|Yes the room needed a little attention - the shower nozzle hung down out of the ceiling, the shower handle came off the temperature regulator every time you adjusted it, the toilet seat kept falling down & had to be held up for me (male!),, the toilet itself was not fixed equi distant in the space between the shower screen & the wall & made sitting on it uncomfortable as you would then be squashed ........but none of these were major & would not have impacted our stay very seriously.|We enjoyed the breakfast & the staff, generally were very good & helpful|Upon checking out, we left a 50,000 COP tip.||Then, On getting into our taxi, we were called back to be told we needed to pay 50,000 COP for a "broken door key card". The previous evening the door card did not work & it was replaced with nothing at that time being said. Now apparently we had "damaged" it||I refused to pay & said if they wanted the money to take it from the 50,000 COP tip||I have stayed in hundreds of hotels using electronic key cards & if they ever had a problem, they were reprogrammed or replaced without issue||Never have I encountered this situation before & I was annoyed & very disappointed that after a great stay, this was how it ended.||As I said, this would probably have been a...
Read moreI booked my stay for over 3 weeks and chose my room type based upon the description and photos. To my surprise I was provided a smaller room that had no windows as shown in the photo and description!||||After showing the manager the listing with the incorrect information, they said it wasn't their fault and there was nothing they could do. They wouldn't even offer me any sort of discount or room change. After arguing with them several times over the course of a week, they finally switched me to a room with a window to the inside of the building, but not the outside. The room still wasn't as large as the listing photo, but at least I wasn't sealed inside a closed box without any natural light for the remaining two weeks.||||Some other negatives is that the beds were not very comfortable and the bathrooms didn't have ventilation. This applied to both rooms I stayed in.||||On a positive note, they were always keeping the common spaces very clean, the decor and style was nice, and the...
