Crepes & Waffles - Laureles — Restaurant in Medellín

We kept seeing the lines at this place and said we needed to try. I honestly don't know what the hype is. We came here yesterday early when they first opened and everything we ordered was good but didn't think it was all that. Came back this morning before leaving for the airport because it's closer than where we really wanted to go. We got here right at 8:05a. Ordered at about 8:15 and had to ask for utensils cause we did the fruit and cereal bar. Didn't realize that it was only one small bowl for a charge of COP of 18,900. My daughter got a bowl of cereal and a bowl of fruits, and they said it was 2 charges, which i thought it meant for 2 ppl. I asked the server if it was per bowl and they said no so I figured it was a bar where you can keep going back. When I got another bowl of fruits, another server came up to me to tell me that it was another charge. Told her I asked the other server and they said it wasn't by the bowl. $5 usd for a bowl of cereal is insane or even for fruits considering how much things here cost. On top of this, it's been 30 min and we didn't get the drinks we ordered or even utensils, while everyone around that got here later has gotten their drinks, brand and utensils. Also they bring around the bread basket without telling you that you have to pay for the bread. Nothing said about the charge for the bread, so you would think it's complimentary. Glad that we didn't wait to eat here cause we would've been even more missed. Worst place we've eaten...

Food was delicious as usual. I had the Shrimp Rosarito and I ordered a fruit waffle for desert. Both were excellent as well as the americano I ordered.

However, the service was horrible. Waited 15-20 min to order my food, my desert never came with no sight of my waitress anywhere. Finally another waitress was sweeping nearby and asked if I needed anything. I basically ordered my desert again as I assumed after a long wait it wasn't coming.

When my desert came I had no knife and fork as they took it away with my main course. Tried flagging down a waitress but none of them made eye contact until finally one did.

Overall this is a nice location on a main street and the food is up to the usual standard but I got the short end of the stick on service I guess as I noticed other waitresses were attentive to their tables,...

We were sad to learn they don’t serve their brunch items past 12 (even on Sunday). I got a Greek salad and my partner a mushroom fondue in a bread. They were both pretty good, but the salad was ok the pricey side- 27 mil. We got a waffle for desert and were a bit disappointed, it was really nothing special! For a waffle place.. this is strange. They didn’t allow dogs but had a place to tie them with shade and a bowl of water. By the time we left there was a huge line to get in so keep it in mind. The overall style of the place was very nice. It’s big and right on the street, but still managed to feel like you are in a beautiful garden. The lost star is mainly due to the slow service. I know it was busy, but we had to ask for everything twice as the waitresses apparently don’t communicate...
