The Market (Marriott Medellín) — Restaurant in Medellín

I have been staying at the Marriott for several days now and have had the pleasure of eating at the breakfast buffet Upon entering I am always greeted with a friendly smile from Camila Peña and asked whether I would like to have a seat by the window where I have been able to see the magnolia tree in bloom or at another table right away Since I have been coming for several days the servers remember me and call me by my name especially Felipe and Days Felipe has even asked how my day went the day before and shown a keen interest in my trip looking at some of my photos from the day before they remember that I enjoy my tea and bring it right to the table and for the coffee lovers they bring you your coffee or espresso etc they always ask me if I want anything special from the kitchen omelette, fried eggs oatmeal the service has been excellent every day The buffet has everything you could ask for cereals, eggs waffles pancakes local foods and there is a slight change everyday keeping it interesting yesterday I had the pleasure of having a chicken stew and today a nice beef broth it is nice to have a variety of fruits I was familiar with and since I am here I was able to try several of the Colombia fruits one of my favorites is granadilla they always ask if I want a to go bag to take with me as I am taking tours daily to Guatape and communal 13 it’s nice to have a snack of fruit or a drink while walking around not sure if it’s really necessary to mention it but if you’re from the United States English easily spoken here so you won’t have any problems asking for anything my wife is from Colombia married 30 years so I speak a little myself although I should be better after 30 years I was informed that Colombia is playing Bolivia tonight for a confirmed spot in the World Cup so I’m sure tonight I will be at the local bar cheering them on So in conclusion 5 stars for Marriott their breakfast buffet and wonderful staff Chao...

We dined at The Market Restaurant in the Medellin Marriott on Saturday at Noon. We were looking for a lunch instead of a brunch and we picked the perfect restaurant. Camila Rega was the perfect host for our lunch and helped us with translation of our specific requests on our orders. She ensured our cocktails and food were as ordered. The open kitchen provided us a great opportunity to see our Margherita pizza dough being hand-tossed before being put into the pizza oven. The flavors were exquisite. Spent Christmas Eve here for dinner - lovely set up.

It was a set price per head for unlimited buffet food and unlimited drink (pretty much any drink you wanted also which was great).

Quality of food and drink was fantastic, and there was some live music playing in the foyer to add to the atmosphere.

Out 2 waiters were great and deserve a special mention; Jonathan and Fabien - top notch and couldn’t do enough for us.

Only minor gripe was that the drinks took quite a long time to arrive from ordering, they were all made fresh tbf and it seemed like only 1 man was making them.
