This hotel isn't the biggest, but it'sbig enough, clean, comfortable, good food, perfect location, safe, and, the people at the restaurant are just friendly, attentive, nice, they can remember your name even if they come back a year later! Slay, the guys at the front door are kind and very helpful always, not only with your luggage but any questions you might have about services, the hotel, the city, etc.
Most of the people at the front desk are very nice. If you have an issue, just let the Manager know.
I would recommend it! We've stayed there several times and keep going back. I've stayed in bigger, nicer hotels but the service here is so good that it keeps us coming back. They make you feel right at home.
LOCATION: Perfect!! It's close to restaurants, two good malls, a big supermarket, pharmacy, even a Panamericana! It's a store with books, fancy school supplies, home decor, etc. RESTAURANTS The restaurant had a buffet every morning and a good menu for a nice dinner. But, if you want to explore... there are several good restaurants by the hotel, next to it, across the street from it, etc. MALLS The Oviedo Mall is a three minute walk, on the same side walk off the hotel, right next to Mc Donald's. The other big mall, Santa Fe, is just across the street from it. There's a cross walk. Just watch it because drivers in Colombia are a bit crazy. You can find different services at these malls, besides the regular shopping. They are extensive. Pharmacies, travel agencies, eye doctors, therapist, nail places, cafeterias,...
Read moreI’ll give credit where it’s due: the place is reasonably clean (there’s your first star) and the check-in process didn’t make me want to pull my hair out (there’s your second). Beyond that? Well, prepare yourself for the masterclass in how to strip “hospitality” out of the hospitality industry.||I’m currently staying here and learned quickly that this hotel’s idea of “complimentary” stops at coffee pods. When I politely asked for a couple of tea bags instead—since, you know, not everyone guzzles coffee like it’s oxygen—I was told that would cost extra. Extra. For a tea bag. I even offered to hand back the coffee pods in exchange, but apparently that radical barter system was too much for the staff to process.||Now, maybe they’re under strict orders to nickel-and-dime guests at every opportunity. Or maybe they’re just not empowered to make such wild, customer-friendly decisions as swapping coffee for tea. Either way, the result is the same: a “we couldn’t care less” vibe that makes you wonder why anyone here chose a career in service.||So yes, two stars. One for cleanliness, one for check-in. Everything else? A case study in how to alienate guests over pennies. If this is what passes for hospitality, I’d hate to see their definition of...
Read moreWe spent there 4 nights. The guy who was sent to the airport to pick us up (for an extra charge) said that we could tip him if we wanted to but when we didn’t (as we’ve already paid a hefty sum) he was rude and left without a word. The lobby and the dining area was nice. We loved the small garden right next to the tables, it was relaxing. The room was a bit outdated but there was enough space and there’s a chest of drawers as well as a small closet for clothes. The bedding was comfortable (even though the bed was super short. I’m not that tall (5’7”) but my heels were off of it) with two different pillows (one of them was memory foam). Lots of restaurants, supermarkets and two malls in the close proximity. Fast and reliable WiFi. Great breakfast with lots of choices—buffet open from 6AM. A few not-so-good things: The shower didn’t have a door to keep the water inside so the water sprayed onto the bathroom floor. Lots of car/motorcycle traffic around—it’s ok but definitely not quiet. Also it’s a bit further away from the must-see attractions. The single serve coffee they left us in the room as a “gift” expired months ago. Overall a good hotel and we were...
