Tribu — Restaurant in Bahía Ballena

I wish we had the opportunity to rate the food (so do not take the 1 stare as an incitement of the food as you are required to give a rating but we we not afforded to opportunity to actually eat). During the day we drove to the restaurant to make a reservation for dinner that evening (which you will find takes effort in Costa Rica given the roads). When we arrived for dinner, on time, and in the midst of a thunderstorm, we were told by one of the owners “sorry, I see your reservation but there are no tables and we can’t accommodate you.” The other owner, his wife I believe, did not even have the courtesy to come over and apologize (she is who my wife spoke with to make the actual reservation and said “can’t wait to see you later”). No effort was made to accommodate us (as opposed to walking out into the storm with no where to eat we would have been accepting of almost anything). I realize that errors happen, but there was no empathy or acknowledgment that when you accept a reservation you in fact should honor it. The more appropriate rating for us to complete, instead of “food” would be “integrity,” for which they would receive the lowest...

We ate at Tribu in November 2023 and absolutely loved it!! So much so that we went there two days in a row. The restaurant is very clean, designed beautifully, the service is outstanding and the food is incredible. I have traveled to Costa Rica 4 times and have eaten all over the country and I can say this is one of the best restaurants I have been to during my travels!
