Black & White Restaurant — Restaurant in Cahuita

Damn, what a shame. So much potential but quite the let down. From what looked like a nice place online & outside. We sat and have a meal. Waitress was rather quiet but she did make a Chile drink from scratch and was delicious so fair play on that one. I ordered quesadillas which had no description so was a mystery meat and insides and my partner had the chicken and rice, not the Caribbean one.

Both looked ok & mine tasted ok. The Pulled Beef was not to bad at all but the unmelted lumps of American cheese weren’t good. I would just go from a nice mozzarella and refried beans were meh. As I write this only 30 mins later my stomach is not great, in fact I’m going to be sick to get this out of my body.

My partner is already been to the toilet and laying down in agony. Straight away I could see something wasn’t right with her food, she said chicken is nice but somethings not. The rice was standard which rice nothing special and nothing great either but the beans were disgusting! Maybe sat out for a while or old but With 10 mins of eating her dish she was asking to leave. Having not eaten since breakfast we wanted a good meal, 16,000 colones later, we both feel sick and should have gone to what we knew instead. Not another soul in the restaurant either,...

The service is incredibly slow and seems like the stuff are not completely informed about how the meals are made of …. 1st we waited more than an hour to get the food and we even had to ask for a smoothie twice because the food was not ready, my husband asked the waitress the ingredients for the Burrito , she said ( it’s an steak burrito ) which we were expecting to receive , instead of steak we got a burrito full of rice and just some pieces of meat. They have to make sure what is showing up on the menu or at least know what includes… because 5000 colones , just for a rice burrito , it does not make sense. First time I tried this place and left with a great first impression. My boyfriend and I was looking for a place with ceviche and vegan options and someone from the staff came right up to me and just knew I was looking for vegan options and immediately accommodated me! We greatly appreciated that and we absolutely devoured our food and the staff member even made me a special tea and shared us the leaves he used and how he makes it. We felt so welcomed and loved our first experience at this restaurant. I assume the man was the owner as he had to check on another restaurant around the corner. Would definitely eat...
