Holy moly, so where do I start….

We turned up without a booking at 19:30, we where sat I at a mighty fine table with a sea view without question. What then proceeded was unexpected, Sydney who introduced himself perfectly went onto explain the menu. the knowledge that Sydney had was second to none, he went on to explain the wine list in extreme detail, even gave reasons of which wine paired with which food! From this we chose our appetisers, mains and drinks based on his expertise, Sydney did not let us down!

The food For starters, we had the tuna tartar and the falafel! The tuna was finer than any sushi restaurant we had eaten in, and the falafel had such a succulent flavour, that it was impossible to dry your mouth out like it usually dose, perfect! The mains, I went for the tommy-hawk steak for two, Sydney advised me not to but I have rather a large appetite, and my friend went for the lobster 800gr-900gr, which I may say, was two large lobsters, so please be hungry if you order either of these! No one likes a food waster! The food was unbelievable! Both steak and lobster! For two people who eats out regularly and usually quite bougie if you dont mind me adding, we have never experienced anything like it, and for it to be paired with our host (Sydney) the whole experience was something we have never seen before, from all over the world! Hats off to the chiefs too!

The waiter - Sydney A word for Sydney, our waiter…this man has learnt the menu, tasted the menu, probably knows it better than the back of his hand! Every question we asked he answered without hesitation! We both decided that this was the our first time to have ever experienced this superior knowledge! Sydney went out of his way, even provided things that were not on the menu and delivered! Our glasses never emptied, and the service never stopped! Sydney was most definitely one of the main sources of our enjoyment of the night, other than the food!

To conclude, i beg you to divulge in this restaurant, do not miss your chance to eat here if you’re in the area! If you love your food, then this experience will not let you down! And if the main man Sydney is on the floor that evening, make sure you request him to look after you, you will not be disappointed!

Five Stars is Not Enough! SOCA is Pure Magic!

During our stay in Costa Rica, we had the immense pleasure of dining at SOCA Restaurant not once, but several times—and each visit was as extraordinary as the last. From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the restaurant’s stunning decor, which is a perfect blend of modern elegance and rustic charm. The attention to detail is impeccable, with every corner thoughtfully designed to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The staff at SOCA is simply amazing. From the hosts to the waitstaff, everyone made us feel welcome and at home. Their service was attentive without being intrusive, always ensuring that we had everything we needed to fully enjoy our meal. It’s rare to find such a team that works so seamlessly together to create a flawless dining experience.

And the food—where do I even begin? Every dish we tried was a masterpiece, bursting with flavor and prepared to perfection. Whether it was the fresh seafood, the inventive appetizers, or the exquisite desserts, each bite was an explosion of taste that left us craving more. The drinks, too, were exceptional, with expertly crafted cocktails that paired beautifully with the vibrant dishes. SOCA truly offers a culinary experience that is second to none.

What made the experience even more special was the beautiful tribute to Chavela Vargas. The restaurant pays homage to her in such a heartfelt and tasteful way, and it added a unique cultural richness to the ambiance that made our time there even more memorable.

The ambiance at SOCA is simply exceptional. Whether you’re sitting inside, surrounded by its beautifully curated decor, or outside, taking in the Costa Rican breeze, the vibe is both relaxing and enchanting. It’s the perfect place for a romantic dinner, a special celebration, or just a night out to indulge in incredible food and drinks.

We found ourselves returning to SOCA multiple times during our stay because the experience was that magnificent. If we could give 10 stars, we absolutely would. Five stars simply don’t do this gem justice!

A very impressive place. As it is presumably new yet, unfortunately there is not really information about it on the internet. At first, we were also reluctant to come in here because it has such a luxurious look that you think it can only be an incredibly expensive place. In the end, luckily we decided it was excellent as a dating venue, so we stayed. Of course, the atmosphere, the design, the music and the quality of the service were also very high quality. First of all, I upload the menu, as proof that the prices are completely general, because unfortunately we did not find a price list anywhere on the Internet which also made us insecure. However, prices even include taxes and service charge. The service was very polite, kind and willing. The preparation, taste, quality and decoration of the food is quite exceptional, and everything is also very plentiful. We’re huge steak lovers, but unfortunately we haven’t found filet mignon anywhere in Costa Rica. Here, too, we were a little afraid of what quality it would be, but both the meat and the frying were excellent. It was a great choice. And as a dessert, at the suggestion of our waiter, we asked for the pistiachio spirit, but we were very happy to do so, because the taste we received was quite amazing.
