We stumbled upon this place, it smelled delicious, but I was skeptical about 4.9 star reviews. The chef exceeded all expectations! We had 7 items and EACH dish and side continued to impress. The chef paired the entrees with the perfect sauce for us: sea bass with garlic sauce, snapper with Coconut curry, and chicken with Caribbean sauce. The guac and fries banana chips was amazing! The guac was very well flavored and the chips were thin and crispy. Maybe the favorite of the group was the fried plantains with beans. You just got to try! The service was equally excellent and a nice ambiance. They have only been open for 9 months, which explains the low number of reviews. UPDATE: After trying a few other restaurants in the region, including some big names, we concluded that TerraMar was either a hidden gem or a fluke. We went back again to find that not only was the service just as friendly and reliable, but the food was again simply amazing. It truly deserves 5 shining stars. We got to meet the chef who was super kind and talked to us about her techniques. She clearly puts a lot of time and love into her food.

4.7 overall. Great food, large portions and a reasonable price. Quality price ratio is strong. The Caribbean chicken is very good. The atmosphere is very nice outdoor covered seating. The place is clean and the tables are nice wood. They have uncovered seating as well, WiFi and nice bathrooms with toilet paper; missing hand towels. The service was excellent and friendly. I would definitely go again.

Wahrscheinlich ist es die Top Lage, die dieses Soda doch relativ überbewertet machen. Fangen wir beim Service an, der junge freundliche Mann war eigentlich 90% der Zeit mit seinem Handy beschäftigt, weder unser Wunsch das Essen fürs Kind vorab zu bringen noch der Wunsch die Beilage des Hauptgerichtes einfach fürs Kind zu nehmen wurden beachtet. Das in der Karte sämtliche Preise ohne Steuer und ohne Service aufgeführt sind, und somit satte 23% auf den Preis aufgeschlagen werden, scheint den meisten Bewertern nicht aufgefallen zu sein. Es ist somit weder preiswert noch wirklich transparent. Ja, die Portionen sind groß, aber nach einigen Sodas in Costa Rica kann ich sagen, geschmacklich ist viel Luft nach oben.

We were walking to another Caribbean Restaurant when we stumbled on Terramar Cocles, which hadn't come o Google though it was closer to our hotel than our first choice. Not waiting to walk further in the dark, we choose Terramar and Wow! The Guacamole & Plantain Chips were amazing, the Oxtail brilliant and the service lovely. Would have more Caribbean themed music and less MoR Americana, but aside from that, just Wow! Couldn't recommend more highly....
