Okay, this is a bit unfair because my husband is Peruvian, so our standards are admittedly unreasonable. We ordered ceviche de pescado and jalea mixta which were both fine, pretty good, really, but the portions were small. They also don't seem to understand the importance of onions and aji. They give you aji on the side, but that isn't what you expect. And why were there so few onions? Also, no cancha or real choclo. I don't think they had Cusqueña beer (which some people may see as a positive). The waitstaff was partly Peruvian, so it's not like they don't know what's authentic. Maybe people in Costa Rica don't like onions... 🤔 Really, now that I think about it, onions have generally been in short supply in the food here. And nothing has been spicy. Sorry for the onion tangent: this restaurant has good quality food (if somewhat small portions). That is the...

This place is as authentic as they come. The ceviche is the real deal. Big lumps of fresh fish with the real rocoto pepper juice. Comes with corn and juca and sweet potatoes and of course the onions. Yummy.

The main course was a fish with fresh seafood on top. With some sort of a tomato sauce. It is delicious.

Their beef with shrimp was just ok. I tried a little bit from my friend. The beef was not the most tender and the rest of the shrimp was cooked with no sauce or anything which is a small bummer for the dish. It does come with some grilled vegetables and cut pieces of sliced garlic for taste.

My friend did enjoy the surf and turf however not so much the shrimp.

For dessert, i ordered the coconut flan and it is a piece of art. Delicious, not so creamy or heavy but just the right amount of sweet.

I highly...

If you love Peruvian dish, this is the place to go. My wife brought me here because it was one of her favorite places to go. She’s a local but I’m the tourist. From the outside, it didn’t seem appealing enough to enter the restaurant. Needless to say, I was skeptical. But, to my surprise, after entering this restaurant, I found myself shocked at how elegantly put together the place looked. It had an old traditional Spanish feel to it. And to top it off, the dishes were absolutely amazing. My favorite dish out of my wife’s recommendations was the soup. Try it, the dish will surprise you with its rich savory flavor. I’d love to go back and try out other dishes. I suddenly...

We had a truly wonderful dining experience at Machu Picchu Restaurant. The evening started off with an amazing ceviche entrée that was bursting with fresh flavors. For the main course, we enjoyed succulent chicken and perfectly cooked octopus. Everything was incredibly smooth and perfect, especially the excellent service. The atmosphere was authentic and local, making it a genuinely delightful place to dine. Absolutely recommended!
