Anaconda Cafe — Restaurant in Quepos

Restaurant can be tricky to find as it is part of the Costa Verde resort, however they have recently added signs to make it easier. The view is stunning and probably the best thing about the restaurant. Service was slow, and the waiters did not seem to have a lot of experience. I think they may have recently implemented a new system for taking orders with an iPad and the staff was not well trained on it. The restaurant was pretty empty yet drinks as basic as a beer took 15 minutes to get to the table. The flavor of the food was very good, and portions were large. Our favorite was the chicken ranch sandwich which can easily feed two people. We also ordered the gallo pinto since it had been recommended to us but I did not find it to be any better than other ones I’ve tried for half the price. It was also supposed to come with bread but the waiters never brought it to us. Prices are a bit high, but since the portions are so large, I don’t think it’s that bad. I would consider returning just for the chicken...

What a horrific experience - by far the worst meal we have had in Costa Rica! And it was almost topped by the non-existent service. My girlfriend and I along with her two kids went for lunch, and were served inedible food. We sent French toast back that had uncooked egg, and it was replaced with the same. A fruit plate has unripe fruit, but to top it off, the banana bread served with the Costa Rican typical had mold on it. When paying for the bill, after expressing concerns, the two meals were not charged to us. Frankly, the whole meal should have been comped. Oh yeah - service - with three servers an an empty restaurant, we had to get up to serve ourselves more water!! Stay away is...

I had lunch here and also had to get some work done. The Wi-Fi was perfect (streamed a MS Teams meeting), the service was adequately attentive, and the food was perfect for what I was craving (Anaconda burger and fries). The view overlooks Playa Espadilla and there's ample shade and air circulation. I wish I discovered this place earlier in the week. Only open until 2 pm, so come for breakfast or lunch. Note that there is another Anaconda Café on Google Maps which is the incorrect location. The correct café is beside Costa Verde. I found out...
