Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant. I chose it due to the good reviews and the rating but was very disappointed.
The portions are not that big anymore and the smoothies are not good. We even did not finish ours - which happened for the first time in CR!! Also the prices went up compared to the menu pictures posted online on Google. Let me give the explanation which I also provided to the staff when asked if I liked the food: I ordered the chicken tacos and my wife had the mahi mahi fish filet with vegetables and fries. The tacos had American coleslaw inside which dominated the taste badly. Also too much of poor-tasting mozzarella cheese inside - but if I wanted melted cheese I would have ordered a quesadilla! So the tacos were completely lacking any local flavors from my perspective. The mahi mahi fish filet portion was not big and taste of the passion fruit sauce not so great.
When it comes to the smoothies: my wife ordered the „Lapa roja“ with watermelon as the main ingredient, accompanied with ginger and mint. By the name you would expect a red-colored drink. When the drink was served however, she received a brown-colored smoothie. Asking for the reason of the color we were told it is because of the ginger and the leaves of the mint. Why serve a not inviting looking drink. Anyways, smoothie was not so tasty either and not what we would expect with a watermelon base. Similarly, my smoothie had pineapple as base but did not taste at all like it as the passion fruit and mint dominated. As I wrote - we did not bother to finish them.
In the end I give the poor rating also for the poor complaint management as there was no apology or sign of trying to make you as a customer satisfied. We really wish we would have gone to a different restaurant on our last night in MA and should have listened to our landlord’s...
Read moreMy recent visit to this charming restaurant left me thoroughly impressed and satisfied. Vista Verde seamlessly combines exceptional food, quality service, affordability, and a great sunset view, making it a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists.
One standout feature of Vista Verde is that the exceptional food doesn't come at a super high price. The restaurant manages to maintain a fine balance between offering great dishes and affordability, making it accessible to a wide range of diners. You can enjoy an exquisite meal without breaking the bank.
Speaking of affordability, the Batidos at Vista Verde are not only delicious but also reasonably priced. These fruit smoothies are the perfect way to beat the tropical heat while savoring the freshness of locally sourced fruits. Whether you opt for a classic fruit blend or a unique tropical fusion, you won't be disappointed.
Additionally, Vista Verde offers the convenience of free and easily accessible parking right next to...
Read moreThe food was pretty good. Large portion sizes that are well priced. I got the chicken pad Thai, and I loved the vegetables and chicken in it; the sauce was just too thick, salty and soy-saucy to be able to eat very much of it. My husband got the spaghetti pomodoro and we both thought it was pretty good, albeit heavy on the basil which was over powering. The kids loved the chicken fingers and fries, side of vegetables and fruit smoothie. The atmosphere was ok. The back deck has a really nice view, it was just hard to relax as the railing had huge gaps in it that our toddler could have walked right through. Also had a lot of traffic noise. The staff was really great. One noticed that our toddler was having a hard time sitting still, and bright over a game for my kids to play. That helped me be able to relax and enjoy, a bit! Very clean restaurant with...
