I hate leaving bad reviews, but two days has passed and I am still irritated that I wasted money on this place, a steakhouse that I don’t know think knows how to cook steaks. The best part about the place was the picture I took of my boys and their Costa Rican tomahawks, but if you look at it, it looks smashed. I watched the chef cooking these and he only cooked them over the fire, not finishing them off in the oven. One boy ordered medium rare and the other medium. The second they tried to cut into them, they struggled because all of the fat. There were parts of each one where the fat was not even cooked. It was white as snow. We sent them back where they charred a few pieces and handed it back. After a few more bites, they were grossed out and gave up. I took them someplace else to eat. On top of it all, the noise and smell from the traffic going by made for a bad atmosphere. The most frustrating part was the bill that was over $200. The following night we walked 5 minutes down the street to the Red Door. I would recommend that everybody follows suit.

I was not expecting this at all! We walked by their menu early in the trip and “Hungarian beef goulash” caught my eye, I knew I had to try it. This steak house had a really good sized steak cut menu and the other two girls in my party thoroughly enjoyed their steaks. I was BLOWN AWAY by how authentic my Hungarian dish was. All the dishes come with a salad bar for starters and a side dish as well so we were well fed and very happy with our experience. The only reason I dropped the service experience to a 4/5 is because my server didn’t really know if my dish came with anything and I received 3 unique answers to the same question. So I didn’t really know what I was paying for but this didn’t ruin my experience at all.

We stopped in for dinner during our stay in Tamarindo. The place is located near our hotel and was an easy walk for dinner. The restaurant is well lit and very clean and the staff is very friendly. The initial appearance appears to be of an high end restaurant. However, we felt the price to be comparable of most restaurants in Tamarindo. We ordered the New York Steak and Jagerschnitzel. Both meals came with a side and the salad bar. The Jagerschnitzel was perfectly prepared and very good. However we requested the Steak to be medium well but was served a steak that was cooked quite rare. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Overall, we had an excellent dining experience.

Ordered the porterhouse steak. The menu says 24 ounces… They brought me a 16 ounce steak that was a T-bone… Not as advertised… Before you order a steak from this restaurant make sure you ask them to bring you the pre-cooked steak or go up to the counter, where you can see the chefs and ask to see the steak before they cook it… Definitely not like the pictures of other peoples steaks and what they advertise on the menu… Other than that the steak tasted good there was a fair amount of grizzle… I had the baby potatoes they were good… The salad bar is OK… they’re were flies buzzing around in there, things should be covered and then you can uncover them when you want to take something …for dessert I ordered the crème brûlée… It was not set up properly. It was kind of mushy… But otherwise it tasted OK… For the caliber of restaurant that they’re depicting,Definitely did not live up to my expectations… But again this is Tamarindo in Costa Rica and so far the food is not what you expect in other countries… So having said that, just beware of...

Enrique is the G.O.A.T! As far as servors go, never been happier. Kept our glasses full without being annoying.

The food... guys... listen to me... I've never had a wagyu beef burger until today but it is everything you hear about it. No sauces necessary. Absolutely mouthwatering. I might be addicted now. Nothing will ever match it. Basically all the food is 5 stars in my book. Salad bar: 5 stars. Fries: 5 stars. Schnitzel: 5 stars.

The atmosphere was perfect! Soft instrumental music that was the perfect vibe. Nothing could have made that part better.

Location is perfect and the value is great! We got scammed into buying two egg, and ham sandwiches today at a place around the corner for more money than the burger and schnitzel. Of all the places in Tamarindo I've eaten so far, I would...
