Best thing I've eaten in Tamarindo so far. I'm really into charcoal grilled meat skewers and this place definitely more than scratches they itch.

You can smell the delicious smoke from a block away. Fantastical vaporized meat fat wafting up your nostrils and straight into your dopamine center.

I got the costilla which is rib meat. Porky greatness because there's a good mixture of fat and meat. The taste is charbroiled caramelized glory. I got the mixture of the spicy sauce and the mustard sauce. They also have barbecue sauce too which I'll try next time with beef.

Absolutely loved JR’s Grill! JR is one of the kindest people I’ve met and he’s really funny and chill! When I first went, I didn’t have enough cash on me, and he didn’t even ask me to pay the rest. Just smiled and said it’s all good. When I went back a second time (right before leaving Costa Rica), he even gave me an extra chicken skewer as a little farewell gift.

This is the only place to go to get street meat for sure. He is such a lovely guy and makes a delicious kabob like no other. He has chicken, pork, and I even heard he sometimes has chorizo. I have had the pork and chicken and the chicken was hands down my favourite. He makes is own secret ingredient mustard and you can get it with hot sauce and a marinade. I recommend going with all three. He also puts a barbecued piece of pineapple at the top which is muy delicioso. All this for five dollars, it can't be beat.
