Very disappointing experience. This restaurant is absolutely not vegetarian-friendly. I asked for a poke bowl without meat, and the waiter suggested tofu — but the tofu came covered in a barbecue-like glaze, clearly grilled on the same surface as meat. It was absolutely not vegetarian. This is unacceptable, especially after I clearly explained my dietary needs in advance.
On top of that, the music was loud, annoying, and totally out of place. There were only two couples in the restaurant, and yet the waiter refused to lower the volume when asked politely. It made the atmosphere tense and uncomfortable.
No effort to adapt, no care for customer comfort or dietary concerns. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all — especially if you’re vegetarian or just looking for a peaceful dinner.
UPDATE in response to management to my review:
I appreciate your reply, but I’d like to clarify a few points. I clearly explained my dietary needs when ordering and was told the tofu bowl would be a suitable vegetarian option. What I received was tofu coated in a glaze that looked, smelled, and tasted like a meat-based barbecue sauce. It also appeared seared or grilled in a way that raised doubts about how it was prepared. I even included a photo to avoid any misunderstanding.
You mention that I should have raised the issue during the meal — but when I politely asked for the music to be lowered in an almost empty restaurant, that simple request was dismissed outright without explanation which i obviously accepted right away. That already made it clear my comfort wasn’t a priority, and it didn’t create an environment where I felt comfortable bringing up further concerns.
Your response focuses more on defending the restaurant than on taking responsibility or showing understanding. Suggesting that my review is “exaggerated” or “venting,” and ending with “wishing you better experiences elsewhere,” only reinforces a lack of accountability. That’s not the tone of a place that values real feedback or guest experience.
I stand by my review. It’s not written in anger — it’s meant to inform others who care about dietary transparency and a welcoming atmosphere. We were greeted kindly by the staff, but unfortunately, our needs were not truly heard. Nothing personal — just...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant twice last week.
The first time, it wasn’t very busy. We ordered food and drinks, but about five minutes later we realized that my partner’s medical device had stopped working. He immediately went to the waiter and asked if the kitchen could hold off on preparing our meals, so he could quickly return to our apartment and fix the issue. The waiter, without even checking, told us that it wasn’t possible because our dishes were “almost ready.” We understood this, of course—but in reality, it wasn’t true. The food didn’t arrive for another 45 minutes, which would have been more than enough time for a quick trip back and forth.
That said, the food itself was absolutely delicious and made up for much of the inconvenience. After finishing our meal, we asked for the bill right away, but unfortunately, that also took quite a long time to arrive.
Despite this, we decided to give the restaurant another chance, because the food really was excellent and we assumed the first experience may have just been an off night. Sadly, our second visit wasn’t much better in terms of service. It took a long time before anyone noticed us, and eventually another waiter (not the one originally assigned to our table) came to take our order. The food again took over an hour to arrive, which wasn’t a huge issue since it was busy that night. However, throughout the entire time we sat there, no one offered us another round of drinks—we spent the whole evening with just one. Trying to get the staff’s attention was nearly impossible, and most of them looked rather unfriendly or uninterested.
When the food finally arrived, it was once again fantastic—flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared. Unfortunately, the service was again disappointing. Nobody checked in to see if everything was to our liking during the meal, and once we had finished, our empty plates sat in front of us for about 20 minutes. In the end, we got tired of waiting and decided to go up to the bar ourselves to pay.
It’s really a shame, because the quality of the food here is outstanding, but the service is far below what you’d expect. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for the food alone, but don’t expect attentive or...
Read moreSimply over complex and need to go back to basics. We recently ate dinner at this place with nothing but a feeling of disappointment.
For starter we shared “The Croatian”, the restaurants take on a beef carpaccio. The dish was quiet complex with beef with anchovies, balsamic reduction, a form of carrot purée and a variety of dried fruits. This was strangely served on a thick piece of bread. The bread was redundant and our palates left confused and a little under whelmed as nothing gelled together.
For mains we ordered a “moo moo”, steak and potatoes, and “juicy pork”, a pork steak stuffed with ham and mozzarella. For the steak we requested a medium rare which was what the waitress announced once it arrived. It was medium well, served on a board with a few pieces of potato. Over all it was nothing special and lacked flavour.
The juicy pork was the real disappointment. The whole pork roll was deep fried and served in a pool of its own cooking oil. The texture of the meat resembled meat loaf which on top of the average carrot puree and a couple of lonely potatoes there was no relief for pure fat overload and unbalanced flavours.
Sure it’s possible we just ordered wrong and got unlucky. The staff were nice and the welcome drinks always set a good tone but fundamentally if you can’t cook a steak and your dishes are unbalanced and a little lost maybe it’s time to go back to basics.
I really hope it’s just a once off but I wouldn’t be coming back...
