Only 3 of the 6 order pillars worked, meaning there was a long queue for all of them. When it finally was my turn, I tried to pay with my EU bank card, but I got an error and was sent to the regular ordering queue, which was extremely long (and only 1 of 2 was active). However, my bank app showed that I had already paid... So some "manager" (I think? Different outfit) told me to take my number and go sit somewhere. After almost an hour I still didn't get my food, but I figured they were probably busy (it was extremely crowded). But eventually I was seeing people who came in later than me receive their food, so I went up and asked them about it. My order couldn't be found, and upon checking my bank app again, I realised the money had been refunded?! So I had to order again at the regular order area, but there was no menu available, so I had to try and remember everything I had previously ordered (which were 2 things that my country doesn't have). I have autism and I was struggling with the loudness of the environment as well as being hungry, but the cashier was lacking empathy. No one in this place was friendly, everyone just looked annoyed, ignored me or shrugged me off, EXCEPT for Ivan! He helped me to the best of his abilities and was the only friendly face there. So he is the reason for an extra star, so take that as a compliment. He was the only one wanting to deal with a tourist during dinner rush and for that I am grateful. If it wasn't for his customer service I would have left and gone to eat elsewhere, but I ended up ordering takeaway. Thank you Ivan, but shame on you McDonald's Zadar for treating tourists this way. This occurred Tuesday July 15th between...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars, I would. I tried to enter without a mask, and I was denied. That’s cool. I walked back to the hotel, which is five minutes away, got a mask, walked back. Proceeded to walk inside, to then be told it’s closed. Mind you, the drive-through is open but inside was closed suddenly. I then proceeded to approach the manager nicely and explain how I was there before, and went back to the hotel for a mask, she didn’t care. “Sorry, can’t help you, do you have a car?” I said no, and pleaded that I was hungry. She said “sorry, we’re not a CHARITY!” Are you kidding me, I asked? I’m paying you, I have the money, just charge me on the drive-through till, I’ll pick it up outside, I don’t care. She didn’t want to do it, then proceeded to call me a KAREN! LOL! She’s lucky I was hungry and on a different country. Anyhow, after proceeding to talk to the other manager, she finally got her head out of her * and charged me on the drive-through till and reluctantly got me the nuggets I wanted in the first place. Unbelievable. I wish I made this up, and that I wasn’t wasting my time writing this. They don’t care, so hopefully this can be a...
Read moreI don't mean to get over emotional but this is by far the best McDonald's I have ever been to. Unlike the McDonald's in England, that I am used to, this McDonald's is not understaffed, meaning the facilities and seating area are always clean (just as quickly as one customers leaves their seat, there is a happy employee standing over it with spray and a wipe), the service was quick and efficient while at the same time friendly and genuine, the food was hot and there was plenty of it. (I don't know whether this is just a Croatian thing but their medium is our large - I couldn't finish my meal and that is really saying something for me. Also do all Croatian McDonald's possess a small patisserie inside, boasting a large selection of desserts? You could order a hot apple pie with caramel ice cream?? All I can say is that if Croatian people were ever to come to England and visit one of our McDonald's, they would surely be horrified.) I don't know whether this kind of standard is normal for Croatia but this particular McDonald's...
