Al Ritrovo Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Ayia Napa

After many meals at Greek restaurants, we were all longing for a change. I was a bit sceptical about going to an Italian restaurant in such a cheesy looking location, but my concerns were unfounded. The pizza is baked in a brick oven, the pasta was amazing, as we're the antipasti. And being able to get Italian beer (Peroni and Moretti) as draught was also a nice surprise (not that the Cyprus Keo beer isn't good. To the contrary! And you can have that as well as draught.) Everyone was very satisfied with their choices (except for the friend who chose the 4 cheese pasta that was missing the Gorgonzola flavor and was thus a bit flat). We liked it so much, that we returned for a second time a few days later with other friends who were also very positively surprised by the taste and quality of the food. The staff was very friendly as well, some even making jokes. So if you're looking for a change you won't regret...

What a massive disappointment right from the word go.

A young waitress brought over menus without even a single spoken word such as good evening.

My partners calzone was mediocre and my chicken was tasteless with anemic looking roast potatoes and some sort of picked veg.

I am of Italian decent and have eaten many Italian dishes. The food quality was appalling but the service was even worse.

Their staff had no people skills at all. My partner and could not wait to leave.

The waiting staff removed our plates and didn't even ask if we wanted to see the desserts menu.

Don't waste your money. There are many other Italian restaurants in the resort who had plenty of happy customers within their restaurant.

We should have trusted our instincts and walked out after the lifeless waitress dumped the menus on our table.

We do not recommend...

Just dont come here. Most of the waitresses were very kind but honestly the food was lower than average. It took them forever to take our order, bring drinks and bring the food. They brought me the wrong food, even tho i clearly pointed at the food item i wanted when ordering. The old man came and kind of blamed me for ordering wrong. They were sorry and they tried but honestly theres so much room for improvement and i could see it’s just how things work there. My partner ate his food and we were still waiting for my meal, he ordered a beer that never came which they put on our tab but removed ofc when we pointed out...
