Nosh JapAmerican — my night, my palate
I walked into Nosh JapAmerican with my friends hungry for a story, and the kitchen gave me us—line by line, plate by plate. The head chef runs the pass with the kind of quiet authority I love: no chest-beating, just discipline. Knives whisper, rice gleams, sauces are brushed—not dumped. The team on the floor mirrors that poise: eye contact, confident pacing, and the sort of anticipation that makes you feel seen without being fussed over. Texture is their dialect; balance is their religion. By the end of the meal I had that rare feeling that everything—heat, acid, crunch, umami—had been tuned to the same key. Michelin-conversation worthy? Absolutely.
Nachos with glossy cheddar and bright pico, popcorn prawns in a clingy warm-cheesy glaze, mozzarella sticks with tomato jam, and cloud-soft chicken bao with sweet-chili mayo all landed in layered contrasts—crunch giving way to cream, heat countered by cool, every bite tidy and sure. Then came the clean lines: edamame dusted with rock salt or togarashi, sugar-glass ebi tempura that preserved the prawn’s sweetness, and beetroot carpaccio tuned with capers, cream cheese, acidity and perfume. The Fully Ebi roll and the Doragon roll threaded prawn, avocado, tanuki and measured glosses of teriyaki into balanced mouthfuls, while the cocktails—like the food—were built with precision and love, polished, structured and perfectly paced with the meal.
We left Nosh with the pleasant hum that only a well-paced service and a focused kitchen can give. The chef speaks in textures and edits with confidence; the staff keeps the meal flowing like a well-scored track. This isn’t fusion for show—it’s a conversation between precision and pleasure, and it’s one I’d gladly come back...
Read moreWhen on vacation, we usually try to avoid eating twice at the same restaurant to try as many as possible. We broke this rule only once in the last couple of years: For Nosh.
We went there spontaneously on a Saturday, around 6 in the evening and got a table without trouble. The hosts were very friendly and attentive so we felt right at home. The atmosphere in general was very nice, the restaurant sports a both elegant and well decorated look.
Both the drinks and the food didn't take long to be brought out. We ordered a bit of everything, ranging from buffalo wings to sushi to a pulled pork burger. And everything was among the best things we've tasted on the island. The fried items were fresh and crisp, the pulled pork was very well prepared and the sauces were absolutely amazing. We had a very good time there and enjoyed every minute.
Safe to say, on our last evening we went back to end our trip with another dinner and while we tried a range of new items like different sushi types, everything was as good as the first time, if not better.
I'm usually not as outspoken as I am here or even writing reviews, but this is the exception and I can absolutely recommend this restaurant for everyone enjoying (fried) sushi, high quality burgers and an overall very pleasant dining experience.
Parking is possible on one of the lots in the surrounding area, either free or, if full, paid for, but the latter is only three Euros, really no big deal. We didn't need a reservation but I can imagine that it is different during the typical summer vacation times.
We'll happily back another time when we are in...

The softshell crab sushi I had was phenomenal! The balance of flavours and textures and freshness was right up there! I'm going to miss that dish.
Chicken Katsu Sando (sandwich) had a decent amount of breast meat. It was yummy. I don't like margarine though, I would ask them to use butter if possible. But overall it was good. My wife liked the coleslaw in it.
My wife enjoyed her noodle dish. It was on the sweeter side for me but she likes that.
I gave 4/5 for atmosphere; it's actually really nice inside but there were a few flies by the window where we sat. However, the staff moved the automated window into a position where the flies were not a problem thereafter.
A toilet sign on the sliding door would be a great addition for confidence knowing where it is.
Service was very attentive at 3.30 to 4.30pm on a weekday.
We really wanted to come back for more sushi but didn't manage to. Highly recommend this restaurant for the sushi, great service and...
