Modern twist on Mediterranean food
N35°10.507' E33°22.275' This restaurant is located on the corner of Athena Street near the Caraffa Bastion and Farmagusta gate on the east side of the Venetian wall, in the middle of the contemporary art scene that has emerged from the ruins and wastelands that have plagued the Chrysaliniottisa enclave, formerly the commercial heart of the old city, since the invasion. The bare concrete interior of this former carpentry workshop, with good soundproofing, is nicely decorated with vintage objects such as a radio and a cash register machine. The kitchen can be viewed from the outside. You can sit inside and on the tiny terrace next to traffic outside. We chose to sit inside.
This restaurant adds modern flair to tasty Mediterranean dishes. In November 2021, we ordered as a starter two crunchy spring rolls with spinach and feta sauce (€8). The spinach-feta sauce was close to guacamole sauce. Very tasty. As a main course, we ordered duck fillet glazed with maple syrup, pumpkin chutney vegetable and parsnip purée (€17). The large portion of duck tasted very good. The parsnip is a very good alternative to mashed potatoes. The fresh sea bass fillet with basil pesto, sautéed spinach, parsnip purée and mustard (€18) was well-prepared, tasted excellent with nice flavours. Very good main courses and a good accompaniment to the Cypriot rosé wine.
For dessert, we ordered white chocolate cream with mascarpone, pistachio sponge, pistachio cream perfumed with rose water (€8). Delicious ending of a good diner. Service was fine in a half-full restaurant.

The somewhat small menu offers deliciously prepared dishes: good blend of spices, accent on texture and fresh ingredients. We judged the service to be overall excellent until I keeled over on my plate:an unfortunate mix of excellent wines in-situ, too much sun and not enough food thus far. When I came to, my friend was next to me as well as 2 or 3 from the staff. A doctor from a nearby table had also been located. Everyone was discreetly present, efficient and polite. Once they made sure my colors had come back, they continued our service and even offered the coffee on the house. As of then, our rating jumped up to excellent: professional, discreet and fast. Highly...
Read moreI've been here many times before but only for lunch or brunch but never for dinner. Dinner It was huge disappointment. Me and my friend had pork tenderloin stuffed with halloumi and fig . It was not mentioned that it is stuffed with mint too. There was so much mint in it that it was the only flavour we could taste ,no halloumi or fig, meat was very dry too like overcooked. If we weren't very hungry and it wouldn't be past 9pm we wouldn't eat it .
I believe that this place should stick to brunch and lunch , they are great at that. I won't be coming back for dinner and would not recommend it to anyone.
What saddest me most is that we had a guest from abroad that we wanted to take out out for special dinner to enjoy her last night in Cyprus and it turned out to be "...
