RIVER PARK Restaurant & Tavern — Restaurant in Kakopetria

Awful experience. The woman who welcomed us started of very friendly. Then we ordered the food and it all went down from there. We had to wait a full hour for our food, when there was litteraly no one but us in the restaurant. The food we received was bad. The fish looked like it had been in a blender. We think the pizzas were microwave-pizzas, and the spaghetti napolitana was just spaghetti with tomato sauce. When they saw we weren't eating the food, they offered to give something else. When we rejected that, the woman became very unfriendly. The woman didn't even smile anymore because we didn't give a tip....

Souvla arnisia (lamb) was dry and overcooked in the outside (but undercooked in the inside) with a taste of ''yesterday''. Pastitsio (makaronia to fournou) was something that I never saw and ate before, with almost non-existed cream and again, a taste of ''yesterday''. The only tasty food was the bread. It is a pity because given its fine location in Kakopetria, it would give the impression to a tourist that this tavern is a representative of all Cypriot taverns which is not. It's the second time we paid a visit at the restaurant. Despite the heat of 35°c outside, due to the vicinity to the river, it was quite cool inside. The quality and quantity of food was once more phenomenal at reasonable prices. Despite the generous portions, the owner asked if we are ok and if not he would bring more for free!!! It was quite specious and all the covid measures were met in full. Definitely a restaurant of choice and staff very polite. Animal well behaved are welcome at the place. Looking forward to...
