Our dining experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag, with the quality of the food being the standout. We commenced our meal with a delightful shrimp starter that was perfectly cooked and seasoned. This was followed by our main courses - I chose the sea bass which was expertly prepared, full of flavor, and cooked to perfection. My friend had the lamb with fries, and they were quite pleased with their choice as well. The meat was tender, and the fries were crispy. We also shared a Greek salad which was refreshing, a balance of crisp vegetables and tangy dressing, providing a pleasant contrast to our hearty mains. The portions were significant, leaving us feeling more than satisfied.
However, the service we experienced left much to be desired. We found ourselves waiting for our order for approximately 40 minutes, which felt longer given our anticipation for the meal. This extended wait time for food was definitely a downside in our dining experience.
Further, when we were unable to finish our large meals and requested to take the remaining food home, the staff's involvement was minimal. Instead of assisting us with packaging the food, we were handed a box and left to manage it on our own. While the food itself was impressive, the service aspects of our experience could definitely use some refinement and...
Read more“Please don’t say no” my words to the waiter when I asked if they had a table for two. It was well past lunchtime but it was full! Fortunately for us, a table became available outside and thus started our wonderful culinary journey into Cypriot food.
We had a selection of hot and cold meze that included some very special sausages bursting in flavour I could have eaten 20! We actually ordered them by mistake but what a great mistake!!! We had the feta cheese which was breaded, fried then drizzled in honey and sesame seeds, I do apologise for not knowing the proper names of these dishes! Even the salad was outstanding with capers, crumbled feta and onion. The garlic mushrooms and warm pita went down a treat. Main course was, of course, moussaka! We wanted dessert but there’s only so much you can eat and portions are generous. The waiters were all amazing (and handsome) and Papa kept an eye on everything running smoothly, nothing escaped him! Lunch with 2 beers and large water was a very reasonable euros 53, we felt it is worth returning to Limassol just to come here again!!! Sorry the photos were taken as we were half way...

👁️🗨️ I tried the Greek-Cypriot tavern MEZE in Lemesos to see how well they deliver authentic island flavors! 🍤🥂
👍 Starter: Prawn Saganaki – Perfectly cooked prawns in a delicious sauce that brings the sea right to your table. 🍤🌊 👍 Main Course: Octopus Slow Cooked – Bold flavor and a hearty portion, though the octopus was a bit on the tougher side. Served with well-prepared grilled vegetables, naturally flavorful. 🐙🥦 👍 Service – Friendly and efficient, creating a welcoming and attentive atmosphere. 😊
❗ What could be improved: 🍺 Keo Beer – Only available in bottles, not on tap, which is a slight downside for fans of local beer. 🍺 👶 Kid-Friendly Factor – Less ideal for children, with outdoor seating located right on the street. However, if you don’t mind a lively atmosphere, it doesn’t detract from the experience. 🌆
🔄 Bottom line? MEZE Taverna is a great spot for an authentic Greek-Cypriot experience with generous portions and friendly vibes. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a real taste of the local...
