Paragadi Fish Restaurant — Restaurant in Nicosia

The first time we came to Paragadi Fish Restaurant was to finally have found a place that served Lobster in Cyprus. Our meal was delicious. My lobster was served as I specifically asked, “separately from my pasta dish”. My wife’s calamari & octopus were perfectly cooked & tasty to her desire. Service was slow, but I didn’t mind the wait because it was busy.

The next time we returned and ordered the exact meals. It was not busy, service was fast and both our meals were very disappointing. My lobster was cooked, then mixed up into my pasta, I specifically told the 2 waiters to separate them. So my dish was soggy, mushy and hard to enjoy the lobster, I couldn’t use the melted butter in the cup to pour over it. I asked the waiter where’s my lobster shell, then he brought it to me empty. My wife takes the shell home to make a delicious lobster bisque soup.

My wife said to to me that her calamari & octopus were tough like plastic, as if not properly cooked.

The waiter asked if I wanted a new lobster dish, but I said No, I’d already spent 89€ for it and didn’t want to cost them more money, it was the principle to tell the Chef how I asked the food to be prepared. The meal this time was...

2023 update Descent big variety of fish mezze with cold and hot dishes. Good fast service and good price for quantity/quality. Fish mezze for €25pp including soup cold dishes dips salad fish and dessert.

2019 Over priced fish restaurant. Good-average taste of sea food. Small portions well presented (to prove fine dining) There are lots of fish taverns in Nicosia better quality with less price to pay for just a name. Portions small for price paid. Its not really the price paid but the amount of food for main dishes we were served. Salad and 2 dips cost as a main dish

I will try to revisit now that they don't have customers (Summer holidays) and they have a mezze promotion of €15pp and see if they consider the comments. But I am mistaken as their promotion is for groups over 6 adults. Now who will find in Nicosia, August a group of over 6 to get this promotion? Interesting.

update 9/08/2018 by writing (see photo) mezze for less than 6 people is €25pp. Therefore if you are visiting and you are just 4 or 5 people, go for the mezze for 6, eat descent and pay only 90€ instead of 100€ or 125€ (for 4...

Well well well, There is a limited places where you can have fish and seafood in Nicosia. This place is great. Had a selection of fresh fish at the entrance, which is always reassuring. Menu was straight to the point, with the usual suspects of octopus, calamari and all the rest. It also had selection of seafood pasta, for those who like this. I have been surprised to find red snapper ceviche on the menu. It was simply delicious 👌🏻do not be afraid to try it there. Calamari were the usual fried calamari I have also managed to order white tarama off the menu. Thank you. Crab was good, had a selection of honey mustard / sweet chilly / soy souses on the side , which I personally find too overpowering for much a gentle taste.
