JK ONE RESTO BAR — Restaurant in Nicosia

We were a group of 4 and made a reservation for a table on 3/10/2020 at midday for the same night at 22.30.

At 22.20 we called the place to notify that we would be 10’ late due to the fact that we were coming from afar.

At 22.35 we were already standing at the venue’s entrance and they had apparently done an overbooking as they did not have any table for us. They didn’t tell that, they were just trying to “blur the waters”.

The venue’s (kind of) maitre, came to us saying that we would need to wait for another 20’ outside the place, on the pavement, to get inside.

After waiting quite a long, they led us to a back-yard table, which was probably carried and set last minute from the storage room, without being cleaned or wiped.

The maitre, unprofessionally from the very beginning was trying to blame us for the fact that they couldn’t manage their flow and they had given our table, probably to other clients.

After being seated at the dirty table for approx. 15min a waitress came to take an order.

We didn’t stay, just left the place.

The maitre’s behaviour was utterly inappropriate and rude during the whole situation and he was rather combative than helpful.

Service needs much improvement. The blonde Bar-woman was rude when she came to our table and asked her to get the wine glasses as we have finished. The waiters do not speak Greek very well and there were few misunderstandings in ordering food/drinks, we ordered burgers to one waiter and after 15 mins another waiter came and said that no burgers will be served (no stock) and you need to order something else. Seriously now? You do not have burger to serve? There are plenty of choices of wines etc, however we asked for 5-6 different wines and they did not have it in the bar. Delays everywhere, as there were only 2-3 waiters. The waiters were like they are working but i do not like the guests/customers. Not willing to serve etc. Additionally, waiters were missing at some point - we wanted to ask for the bill. The reason of 2 stars, is only because of the food (pork chop) was delicious. I wouldn't think that I would give an one star rating for a restaurant in Nicosia in 2025! We went there for the so called all you can eat sushi buffet. Area was very cold, and people were smoking inside. Sushi buffet was basically 6-7 different types of sushi. Only one of them had a little bit of salmon on the top, the rest were with vegetables with no taste at all. No prawn, no tuna, no chicken, nothing! Worst sushi I have ever eaten in my life. There were some hot dishes like noodles (drenched in a sauce heavy in ginger) and sweet and sour chicken and some kind of beef that tasted awful. Waiters seemed untrained and the same guy who is taking orders and cleaning tables, is making your cocktails as well. There is no barman!
