Words cannot describe how good our food was here this evening. We had the meat meze, which was great value at €21pp, along with a carafe and a half of the house white.
The meal started off with salad, bread and homemade dips, including a delicious tirokafteri and the only taramasalata I've ever liked. The rest of the dishes were brought out fresh from the kitchen as and when they were ready. All of the meats were cooked to perfection, very tender and full of flavour. Our highlights included the halloumi, sausage, sheftali, and beef stew.
In addition, the waitress was extremely friendly and kind enough to share a couple of recipes with us, although we can only hope our attempts will be even half as good!
To round things off, we were given a small portion of very tasty greek halva lightly dusted with cinnamon - another ingredient I'm not keen on but had absolutely no problem with on this occasion.
I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough - it deserves way more than 5 stars! Thankfully we're only halfway through our holiday, so we'll definitely be returning before our...

If you order lamb chops, you will receive overcooked pork chops and they tell you that the lambs in Cyprus don’t taste like lamb.
The owner even went so far to come out with pork belly and pork chops trying to tell me that the pork chops were in fact lamb. I have been on lamb farms several times and eaten lamb my whole life. It is really funny to me that the owner had the guts to come out and try to sell me his bony pork chops as lamb meat.
Additionally, they will tell you that lamb looses it’s distinguishable taste after being marinated and that it’s your fault if you can’t distinguish the two.
After having received the smallest and boniest „lamb chops“ I can only advise you not to go to this restaurant or at least not order lamb chops or pork chops if you don’t enjoying eating a bone.
To be fair, the pastourma was the best I ever tasted but the lamb story is something I will...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I were looking for an authentic place for our last evening at Cyprus, and To Steno provided exactly that. The whole family was involved in the restaurant, which helps with the atmosphere. The service was very kind. It was very quiet - aside from a presumably Cypriot family, we were the only ones. We ordered the meat meze, after I consulted whether anything gluten free could be arranged. We had a continuous stream of small, authentic Greek/Cypriot dishes. It was the perfect amount, and the food was delicious. If we go back to Cyprus, I will most definitely return to this place. We will then try the...
