Faliros restaurant — Restaurant in Paralimni

Not one to write bad reviews, but unfortunately Faliros restaurant takes dining experience to a new level. Having gone past the restaurant and seen that there were a few customers, my family and I thought we would give it a try. Once seated and handed the menu i then began to get get worried as the menu contained 12 pages of food, which common sense would tell you that there is no way on this earth that everything can be fresh.

We started with starters which were ok (nothing to rave about). Then it came to the main courses. My Wife ordered seabass fillet with one bite she knew it was cooked from frozen, absolutely no taste and completely bland. At least if you intend to sell fish on the menu at €23 euros please let the customers know it will be cooked from frozen, which she left without eating any of the fish. I myself had a grilled calamari which again was cooked from frozen with the standard vegetables with no taste of freshness. My son opted for the fillet steak which ended up being as tough as old boots. As the steak didn’t come with any sauces I realised that the restaurant couldn’t disguise the fact it was not fresh.

When are these restaurants going to realise that we are not living in an era in which they can get away with misleading consumers. There is no way a restaurant can specialise in so many cuisines on the menu. My advice would be, to decide what cuisine you want to specialise in and there wouldn’t be no need to...

I always prefer to begin with what a place does well before moving on to areas that could use improvement — I’ve found this approach to be the most constructive.

To start, the atmosphere was pleasant. The music was at a comfortable volume, the staff were friendly, and they served a truly excellent bread.

Now, onto what didn’t work.

The food was significantly overpriced, the portions were very small, and it took 65 minutes from the time we ordered to when the food finally arrived. You might assume that such a delay means the food is gourmet. Nope, it was mediocre at best! Some dishes were even undercooked, and overall, we felt misled.

For example, we ordered the mixed grill, which listed “bacon” among the items. At that price, we expected something substantial — maybe a nice cut of pancetta (πανσέτα). What we got instead was a thin slice of standard bacon. 😂

Visited this restaurant several times and enjoyed the food and service up until last night. I ordered Beef Stroganoff and although the sauce tasted lovely the meat itself was very chewy and I couldn’t eat it. I told the staff. No response. No apology and definitely no discount. They left us alone like we we a couple of lepers and had to wait for a waitress to finally come for the payment. Therefore I give this restaurant zero for customer service and I hope they take some lessons from this experience because I’m not sure I would want to return to a restaurant who don’t know how to handle complaints. They are lovely when everything goes well but like a lot of Cypriot businesses they do not deal well with complaints. Very disappointed especially when practically all reviews on here are excellent and I’m sure my experience doesn’t happen often but Faliros must improve their customer service if they receive...
