Unfortunately disappointing - despite the great ambience

The location itself is really fantastic - the ambience right on the beach is hard to beat. Unfortunately, that's where it ends.

On our first visit, my wife was treated rather unfriendly - that really irritated us. Nevertheless, we gave it a second chance and went out to eat together. Unfortunately, the food was only mediocre - nothing to recommend.

But what really shocked me: I was still chewing and had an almost full bowl of coleslaw on my plate when the waitress came over without comment and simply took my plate away. I've rarely experienced anything like that - it wasn't just rude, it was disrespectful.

(Greek follows) Regarding the beach bar ‘Kohili Seafood Stories on the Beach’ located at ‘Constantinos the Great beach hotel ‘ in Protaras.

The rudest and most unprofessional staff I have ever seen. We visited the bar during rush hour and all the tables were reserved (with the appropriate label on them) except one in which we sat.

The waiter in the rudest way possible, came to inform us that this table also was reserved despite the lack of the label the others had. We informed him of this fact and told him that we’d be staying only for a coffee break. The manager of the place came and refused to take our order. He went out of his way to sent another member of the staff saying that he’s the client that reserved the table, sat down next to us, thus, forcing us to leave.

We never experienced anything like this before and the whole experience was extremely annoying. For a large company with so many hotels (Tsokkos hotels) and so much experience in the hospitality sector, what happened was just unbelievable and plain unprofessional. I do want to note that were talking about the beach bar of a ‘Five-star Hotel’. .... Ένα έχω να πω, αγενές και άκρως αντιεπαγγελματικό προσωπικό. Όταν επισκεφθήκαμε το καφέ, εν ώρα αιχμής, όλα τα τραπέζια ήταν ρεζερβέ εκτός από ένα, στο οποίο καθίσαμε.

Ο σερβιτόρος με άκρως αγενή τρόπο ήρθε να μας ενημερώσει ότι και αυτό το τραπέζι (παρά το γεγονός ότι δεν είχε πάνω σήμανση ρεζερβέ όπως τα υπόλοιπα) ήταν κρατημένο! Όταν εμείς τον ενημερώσαμε για την έλλειψη σήμανσης και πως απλά θα πίναμε ένα καφέ, ο υπεύθυνος αρνήθηκε να μας εξυπηρετήσει. Έπειτα έστειλε ένα άτομο του καταστήματος για να καθίσει στο τραπέζι σαν ‘πελάτης’, για να μας αναγκάσει να φύγουμε.

The view of the sea is absolutely perfect – truly the highlight of this place. Unfortunately, the food doesn’t match the setting. It appears to be mostly frozen and simply reheated, lacking freshness and quality.

The service is hit or miss – some staff members are friendly, while others seem indifferent or even a bit unfriendly. We also tried a cup of coffee, but even something simple like Cypriot coffee tasted quite bad, and the barista was noticeably impatient.

If you’re just stopping by for the view, maybe a quick drink is okay. But overall, we wouldn’t come here for the food or...
