L’Osteria Bochnerův palác — Restaurant in okres Brno-město

We tried Carbonara, which was quite a disappointment (why do you put cream there, and a lot of it?). You can get much better for a lower price in Brno.

The wine selection is not what you would expect for a restaurant that wants to look premium.

I see the push for maximum margin, but this is not interesting at all (Chardonnay, Merlot, Primitivo - reads like an advertisement for a Lidl). The interior is beautiful! I hope they will fix the quality of food and drinks. I'll come back once more for Pizza, as it looks much better than the pasta.

Edit: We came back, had 4 types of pasta, and they all look the same, universal sauce with something extra thrown into it to call it differently.

Pizza is oversized on purpose, it does not fit the plate, it looks fancy, but that’s it. Boring flavors. But you can treat it as a challenge and try to eat it all.

Service is trying a lot to behave as they were told, which is quite nice (but their attempts to talk Italian is weird, it is very unnatural) but the food quality is simply not...

An excellent Italian restaurant with really superb meals. I doubt that someone can finish the pizza here, as it's just way too big. But then, it's the pizza that you won't find at any other place in Brno. What I especially appreciate is that you get the rest of an unfinished pizza in a small box. Someone really gave it some though! And I'm truly a fan of the approach. I went for a salad with avocado and shrimps for my dinner and I liked it a lot. And I liked staff and people working at the place even more, as I truly felt that I can customize my meal in the case that I don't like something. The restaurant was totally full on the day when I visited it. Because of that, it was also very noisy. Count with that, if you normally prefer a calm or quiet environment where you don't need to talk so loud or literally shout. I strongly recommend to make a reservation. Otherwise you might not get a table, or you will end up at the bar, the same as me...

This is one of those non-pretencious restaurants that surprise you with the overall experience. We enjoyed an excellent food and service. All the personnel was courteous from the moment we entered and our waitress, Pamela, did a terrific job. She's very talented for this work being at the same time discreet, courteous, and fast in her service. As for the food, all of it was well prepared to our pleasure: bruschetta, as an opener, Tartufo Mezzalune e Funghi pasta, and a Capricciosa pizza. Pinot Grigio was also very tasteful. For the desserts, Panna Cotta, Souffle al Cioccolato, and Spaghetti Ice were delicious, too.
