Hostel John Galt Brno — Hotel in okres Brno-město

One of the worst hostels experience ever, I will sum it up in points to get an overview then I will tell the whole story. impolite behavior and attitude from the worker. nightclub below the hostel, open till 4:00 am so you won't sleep. wrong info and descriptions. not clean at all not organized and someone took my bed no locker and safety

First, to be honest, the hostel has a good location and this is the only good point in it. but everything else is very bad. it started when I and my cousin arrived at Brno before the check-in time, usually, we go to drop our bags until the check-in, we went to the hostel, the door was closed (Not expected) then we knocked the door for like 5 mins no answer (they taped the bell and wrote over it NO) then at the end someone opened and looked weird at us as if we opened his private room and said What!!, I explained to him that we have a reservation, then he said the check-in time not now, I said we just want to drop the bags and we will come back, we asked him to tell us about a place to change money he answer with I don't know you will find in the city. when we came back, we stood like for 15 mins in front of the door knocking and no one answered till the guy came from outside and didn't even say sorry. we were doing the check-in then he asked us for the visa, I didn't get it at the beginning how I paid online or what! I literally answered I paid by master card, he said no the visa for the EU (the first time in my life someone asks me for the visa except the passport control in international flights), we showed him our residence, then he showed us the way to the room and gave us linens and blankets which were really smelly and disgusting as if they are not washed for ages! I asked for lockers, he said you have to pay 2 euros each!, we picked the beds then we went out, and when we came back I found someone else stuff on my bed I went to the reception to ask about this, he came and said ah yeah they didn't understand and moved the stuff to another bed and I wrote a note to this person. we went out again and when we came back we found that there's a club one floor under the hostel and I was loudy and noisy we hardly could have closed our eyes after they finished the party, we don't recommend...

I stayed here three years ago and since then not a lot has changed, except for the price has gone up and the level of service has gone down. Breakfast is not longer included. Printer does not work. Extra charge for a locker is 2€ per day. The reception is closed from 10PM to 9:15AM. In case of loud and drunk guests you have to address this problem yourself.||||What I missed most in this hostel was care. Care for keeping the place clean(especially the toilet area). The central location also means they attract a lot of guests with bad behavior. Difficult for them, but also for other guests. Staff is generally friendly and helpful. Beds are comfortable and the communal space is comfortable with pleasant seats and tables.||||The receptionist caused me a lot of stress as she had to collect the keys and return my passport. Without it I would have missed my plane. She was supposed to be there at 9:00AM, but turned up at 9:15AM. Unreliable! So make sure you return the keys before 10PM and do not go out anymore after that, if you want to be at ease in case you leave in...

Hostel John Galt is in the heart of the city. I have stayed here for a long time due to work and I wanted to share my experiences.

First of all, this place is HUGE! It has one or two solo/duo rooms with big bed for 2 people, it has a room for 8 people and one for 4 people.

The kitchen has better gear than my friends' house :) you can cook nearly everything. They have a selection of free coffee and tea also.

Common area is very well designed. Cozy, well lit. Mostly silent.

Bathrooms are very clean and enough. Never had a problem with hot water. Toilets are a bit small but I think this is the way it is in Czech Republic.

Everywhere is clean. As a man with dust allergy I've never had any problems.

The owner is friendly, reasonable and a helpful man.

Beds has curtains, you have shelves of your own and a lockbox also. Beds are very comfy and rooms are well ventilated.

Finding the hostel was very easy. It is so close to everything. I wish this was my flat :D I worked from hostel. Internet connection...
