I chose this hotel seeking relaxation after a challenging workday. Initially booking one night, I joined colleagues for evening entertainment. Arriving late, desiring more rest, I asked reception to extend my stay; however, they declined without formal apology, responding with a dismissive "what can I do?" Despite the hotel being labeled as a 5-star establishment, the refusal to accommodate a guest's request seemed incongruent with luxury standards.||||While I acknowledge the hotel's lower rates, around 100-120 euros per night, I suggest considering higher charges for full booking capacity. In contrast to reputed luxury hotels like Ritz or Four Seasons, the unwillingness to accommodate a guest's extended stay creates a sense of cheapness. The absence of a friendly, proactive approach and the "can't do attitude" make the hotel feel more like a four-star business venue than a boutique experience.||||Despite claims of offering special services beyond typical 5-star hotels, the experience felt more like a 4-star maximum. The lack of warmth and passive-aggressive behavior from the front desk staff left me feeling unwanted and uncomfortable. In a true 5-star boutique hotel, one expects hospitality beyond the ordinary.||||The lack of a positive experience, coupled with the perception of being just a number in revenue records, prompts me to question the hotel's true 5-star status. The gym area, bathrooms, and overall decor are criticized for being cheap and outdated. The absence of a king-size bed in a 5-star setting is noted, along with the suggestion to invest more and surprise clients.||||Despite the hotel's affordability, the disappointment stems from the unmet expectation of a luxury hotel experience. The staff's inability to handle criticism and the absence of assertiveness, especially when the hotel manager was reportedly unavailable on a Saturday morning, further diminish the perceived level of service.||||In conclusion, the hotel may be suitable for middle-class management staying briefly, but it falls short of providing a leisure center experience. The cold, uncaring staff and the lack of assertiveness suggest a 4-star + rating at best. The unavailability of the hotel manager on a Saturday morning is deemed ridiculous for a purported 5-star establishment. The potential for a longer stay was thwarted, leaving a sense of disappointment with the unfulfilled promise of a true 5-star...

Read moreThis is a really complicated review to make. While some parts I really loved, like the building itself, the location and view, and the excellent breakfast and service at the restaurant, some parts were absolutely dreadful.
First of all the plumbing is really bad, as others have mentioned. The sink was already clogged when I got there, which was pretty disappointing, but they did take care of it immediately when I noticed them. The toilet was also constantly problematic. I get that it can be really hard to fix the plumbing in a building this old, but it’s still a problem you shouldn’t be dealing with at a 5 star hotel.
Then there’s the cleanliness. Although you get housekeeping twice a day, the rooms are never too clean to begin with. There’s dust, stains, and the bathroom was far from ideal.
And now the icing on the cake for me. While most girls at reception were very pleasant, kind, and attentive (especially Elen), one girl in particular made me regret my entire stay there. I could’ve looked past all the small problems, but being made fun of, and blamed for their mistakes, at a 5 star hotel? That is unacceptable. No matter the reason why I’m there, I want to feel good, welcomed. Not treated like an imbecil. As long as I’m not causing any problems and being a model guest, paying my bills, and showing respect, I expect to be treated the same.
I will probably be looking for another hotel during my next visit to Brno, but hopefully your experience was/is/will be...
