We booked the biggest room by booking.com. We got twice smaller (nobody told us about that at reception, later they lied to us about other issues) with kids’ bed by ours. IT WAS FREEZING COLD in the room - only 16 Celsius degrees. After two hours it was no better so we called the reception and they said that the heating was faulty, but they WILL BRING US AN ELECTRIC HEATER. In a four star hotel… I called every other hotel in the city, but it was friday night and all booked so we had no choice but to stay. The restaurant was said to be open till 1am and orders by Roomservice till 11PM. I wanted to eat anything at 10:40pm BUT ALL WAS CLOSED. I couldnt sleep because of the whole stress, I fell asleep in the morning. But at 9 AM someone started drilling and hammering because of the hotel’s renovating works. It should start after check outs! I came here to rest, paid a lot and got NO REST. From minor things - bathroom was new and clean but with NO electric socket whasoever and there was a bad stink from the sewers - from the sink and bathtub. My daughter couldnt brush her teeth there because she felt like throwing up. Oh, and the view was at four walls and hanging a dead owl - which turned out to be fake for scaring the pigeons - a great idea, especially for kids. Speaking of kids - there was no playroom for them, no toys, swimming pool, nothing. They said it was a business hotel but I saw many guests with kids. There was no manager (WEEKEND!) to complain to, just two emploees in their twenties who were of little help and just kept apologising. We contacted them many times. The place was like from a communist museum, absolutely not deserving four stars. They wanted to refund us the breakfast, but we just paid and ran away from there as fast as we could. I WOULD NEVER WANT TO STAY THERE EVEN FOR FREE. Terrible place. I’ve got photos and videos if anyone...
Read moreThe hotel was beautiful, and I had an executive room for 3 for only £120 which was an outstandingly great value for money. Even before walking in, the hotel has a beautiful exterior and the inside was very picturesque and tasteful with a red carpet, chandelier, bar and attentive staff at the desk.
My room was beautiful with a chandelier, tv, vault, 2 sofa chairs, 1 sofa, kettle, double bed, a gorgeous wood tile roof, 2 bedside tables, a mini fridge and complimentary water.
The staff knew 3 where coming but there was still only 2 towels, 2 robes and 2 duvets, however, when we bought this to the staffs attentive, they helped us out and showed genuine care for us, even about a small wrongdoing. And the bathroom tap was also slightly broken but it wasnt impractical as it only sprayed on high pressure, so it wasn't an issue for us.
Also, we left early to explore Brno and asked the staff if they could keep our 3 luggage safe for us and they said yes straight away and took it to a room safely locked up. And when we got back the staff kindly handed it back to us.
The breakfast was delicious with fresh fruits and tasty cakes and pastries.
The area in which the hotel was in was great for travelling and exploring and the squares and old buildings in Brno are utterly fascinating. It is also opposite from a train station and bus stops which can take you to other cities in Europe such as Budapest and Vienna, and also the Brno-Turany airport.
Overall, the staff is professional, attentive and friendly, the food is delicious, the interior is outstandingly gorgeous, the location is ideal and the rooms are beautiful and spacious. 5 stars and...
Read moreI booked doubleroom with kingsize bed and bathtube. When we came to hotel the receptionist looked unhappy. We got our room and went to it. It was small room with only shower and 2 single beds. I went down to reception and talk with the girl there and after some talk I got new room with bathtube , but no kingsize bed still very small room . But I talked with my wife and we stay over in this room. I went down and I have to tell the receptionst that room was not the room I have booked and payed for .. She was very irritated and told me if the beds are put together then it is big bed. I went from there because I saw it will not be so very nice if I argue with her any more. 10.20 pm I went down to the bar to have a cup of coffee , but vaiter stop me and told me it is closed. I went back to my room and read that it should be open to 11.00 pm. In the morning when we checked out from the hotel I met new people in reception and try to explain that I was disapointed , and one guy in reception told me that I can write to them if I am disapointed in very unprofessional style.. If they work like this all the time then I can not recommend any one this hotel . I have very bad and uncomfortable stay at Grand Hotel , Brno.. I have stay in lots of hotels around the world and never met so sad people working at hotel like this one.. I don´t want to be anonymous so I put my name on this...
