KAZOKU Restaurant — Restaurant in okres Karlovy Vary

The atmosphere is nice and the service was good, just a bit slow. However, the food had me reaching for the salt. The Japanese pork dumpling appetizer came out somewhat cold. It was like the plate was chilled and the dumplings sat on it too long before the dish made it to the table. The top of the dumplings were slightly warmer than room temperature and the underside was cold. They were fully cooked, so I think it was the plating. The flavor was good but the dipping sauce was quite bland. My husband had the Thai coconut soup. He liked it, but I found it sweet, as if brown sugar was added to it, and that’s not what I want in my spicy soup.

My husband’s duck was also sweet. I think the spice rub crust included brown sugar. I had the Pad Thai and while the portion was generous, it was near flavorless. Even a liberal shaking of salt didn’t help much.

The bright spot for me was the black sesame seed ice cream I had for dessert. It came out perfectly frozen and was delicious. My husband had tempura fried bananas, which was another miss. They weren’t seasoned at all and the tempura was so thick it overpowered the fruit. Some sugar, cinnamon and honey was needed.

Hopefully, the chef will get freer with the seasoning as they get established, because it really is a nice place to sit and have a meal and the staff...

Po doporučení od kamaráda jsme navštívili tuto restauraci s velkým očekáváním a předem jsme si objednali BBQ.

Po příchodu nám ale ani nebyl nabídnut jídelní lístek, museli jsme si o něj sami říct. Očekávali jsme, že gril bude připraven, ale nakonec jsme čekali přibližně hodinu, než byly uhlíky i maso připravené. Objednali jsme jako předkrm “bao duck”, který nám po 45min oznámili, že již není :D Bylo nám sděleno, že nechtějí aby byl podnik zakouřený v přítomnosti ostatních zákazníků. Proč tedy proboha nabízejí grill?!

Nejhorší však byla obsluha – velmi nezdvořilá, vůbec neochotná, dokonce působila až sarkasticky, když jsme se na něco zeptali.

Jídlo chutnalo dobře, a proto dávám alespoň dvě hvězdičky, ale po této hrozné zkušenosti sem už asi nikdy nezavítáme.

Nach unserer Ankunft wurde uns jedoch nicht einmal die Speisekarte angeboten – wir mussten selbst danach fragen. Wir hatten erwartet, dass der Grill bereits vorbereitet wäre, aber am Ende mussten wir fast eine Stunde warten, bis die Kohlen und das Fleisch fertig waren. Als Vorspeise bestellten wir „Bao Duck“, doch nach 45 Minuten wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass es nicht mehr verfügbar sei :D

Uns wurde gesagt, dass man nicht möchte, dass das Restaurant in Anwesenheit anderer Gäste verraucht wird. Warum um Himmels willen bieten sie dann überhaupt Grillgerichte an?!

Das Schlimmste war jedoch der Service – sehr unhöflich, überhaupt nicht hilfsbereit und sogar sarkastisch, wenn wir nach etwas fragten.

Das Essen hat gut geschmeckt, deshalb gebe ich immerhin zwei Sterne. Nach dieser schrecklichen Erfahrung werden wir aber wahrscheinlich nie wieder...

Pozor! Po předchozí velmi příjemné zkušenosti jsem restauraci navštívil po roce znovu a ani nedokážu plně vyjádřit jak jsem byl zklamán a oklamán. Objednal jsem si japonské kari s kuřecím katsu a rýží, to co jsem ale dostal nemohlo být dál od pravdy. Jasně oranžová kari omáčka s kokosovým mlékem a různými druhy zeleniny je rozhodně blíže thajské verzi a jasně zde vidím snahu ušetřit si námahu, čas a náklady na přípravu skutečného japonského kari, navíc bych čekal japonskou kulatozrnou nebo sushi rýži, namísto ní jsem jsem dostal rozvařenou a nedochucenou nejspíš basmati. Co mě ale ještě více překvapilo byl přístup obsluhy, která i přes moje namítky k jídlu, nespokojenost a faktem, že jsem jídlo s těmito připomínkami vrátil nedojedené, mi oznámila, že takto si tento pokrm připravují oni. Za tento falešný pokrm jsem musel poté zaplatit plnou cenu, nebyla mi nabídnuta žádná sleva, kompenzace ani mi nenabídnuli jiné jídlo, dokonce se mi ani nikdo neomluvil. Celý tento zážitek mi opravdu zkazil večer obzvlášť, když se po minulé zkušenosti těším na dobré jídlo v dobré restauraci, kde však dostanu předraženou a podprůměrnou náhražku....
