I sometimes visit Johannahof in person and other times I order delivery. I always know exactly what to expect – and that’s actually the best part. The place is a classic Czech pub-style restaurant, and I mean that in a good way. The atmosphere is casual, the staff is friendly and usually quick, so you feel relaxed and welcome here.

The portions are really generous and the prices are fair for today’s standards, giving you a good value for money. Their strength is definitely in traditional Czech dishes – things like goulash, schnitzel or svíčková are always a safe bet and taste really good. When you go for something outside of the Czech classics, it’s not their strongest point, but still decent and never disappointing.

It’s also nice that besides dining in, they offer food delivery, so you can enjoy Czech comfort food at home as well. If you’re looking for honest Czech cuisine, good beer and a friendly atmosphere, Johannahof won’t let you down. A very typical neighborhood bar and restaurant. Locals watching the game on TV, families in the side room having an afternoon meal. Plenty of couches on the menu, which is in English, German and Czech. Prices are very fair and portions are good. Flavors are excellent. We read the reviews on Google and went to the restaurant with high expectations. We ordered two goulash soups and a cheeseburger for our son. The goulash soups tasted good, and we were satisfied with them. The cheeseburger was inedible because it was far too salty.
