This hotel was reopened after renovation and is experiencing a few teething problems (which is why I can't give greater marks for service in general) BUT ...||- centrally located,on foot less than 15 minutes to bus station (N.B. sole taxi rank in town here), 10 minutes to main train station, circa 5 minutes to picturesque and animated main square, just round the corner from relatively busy road (where taxis can be hailed) and yet on surprisingly quiet side-street.||- rooms are clean, comfortable and attractive (well, I happen to LIKE kitsch - or at least find it far preferable to some drab and boring boxes to spend days in!). The rear ones have views over gardens. Mine had a terrace (though I had to scramble over a window-sill to get out onto it).||- bathroom particularly nice and new.||- "satellite" T.V. needs re-installing to cater for international guests ... ||- prices very fair (N.B. 10 percent reduction for more than 3 nights).||- the pretty bistro serves good wholesome food, simply super coffee, and scrumptious cakes non-stop from 9.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. (10.00 p.m. at the weekend).||- A nearby baker (which opens at 5.00 a.m.) sells its fresh wares and coffee-to-go if breakfast is desired earlier.||- the two young ladies on rota duty were both delightful. They may speak limited English but try terribly hard.||- the owner is fluent in English and German, was welcoming of any suggestions and extremely willing to please.||N.B. I travelled to lovely Litomerice by train and spent 5 nights there in all, joined by my big sister for 2 in the middle. As a lone female, I felt very relaxed about taking refreshment in the café or arriving back at the hotel after an outing late at night. ||I was so happy about my choice of hotel here, can really recommend this little establishment and wish it every success...
Read moreThis small hotel in the quiet town of Litomerice is little more than a boarding house. You can have breakfast (after 11:00!) and you can eat something near the end of the day before 21:00.||The Steak Grill downstairs offers limited fare from 09:00-21:00 and, apart from the quite interesting graphics of townscapes on the walls is rather sparse. The staff are friendly but do not speak English.||My room, on the very top floor (no lift) had a jaccuzzi in the bedroom. Their also was a small sitting area where a very old fashioned TV sat with little promise. The view from the rear window was of town gardens and roof tops. The picture hanging above the bed was of a scantily-dressed young woman in a suggestive pose. The decor colours are...
