We recently visited Tandoor Indian Restaurant in Tábor as a group of 10.
Location & Ambience: The restaurant is well-located in the city centre, making it convenient to reach. The ambience is decent — comfortable enough for a group meal.
Food Experience: Unfortunately, the food was quite disappointing. We tried a wide variety of dishes including dal makhani, chilly paneer with cheese, naan, veg thali, non-veg thali, chole, palak paneer, butter paneer masala, palak dal, peas rice, mango lassi, and salted lassi.
Most dishes tasted the same, as if prepared with one base gravy. Authentic flavours were missing, and the food relied heavily on artificial colouring rather than taste. The overall presentation looked fine, but the essence of Indian cuisine — rich and distinct flavours — was lacking.
Price: Prices are reasonable, but the taste and authenticity do not match the expectation, especially when serving Indian food.
Overall: While the location and ambience are good, the restaurant needs to seriously improve on taste and authenticity to make the dining experience worthwhile.

Read moreIf you go to visit Tabor, this is one of the better places to eat. The first thing that hits you when you walk in the door is this luxurious scent of complex spices. The food was excellent and two main courses between us was a lot to eat. We had the tandoori mixed grill and biriyani - both were satisfying. There were chicken, mutton, pork, beef, shrimp, fish and vegetarian options. Service was good, and the restaurant clean and comfortable. Prices were on par with Prague. It was a great choice. The Hussite museum across the square is worth visiting if you are interested in...
Read moreFantastic Indian food! Everything I've had there that I've ordered off the menu has been excellent (mainly order veg, fish, or shrimp dishes). Would recommend ordering off the menu instead of the buffet. Also fantastic garlic naan & mango lassi. Servers are from Nepal and very friendly.
Been to the other Indian restaurant in Tabor & hands down this is the better one of the two. I've eaten at many Indian restaurants in the world including in India and would say this is my favorite.
Tabor's lucky to have such fantastic...
