Wildebeest Gastropub — Restaurant in Aalborg Municipality

Wildebeest Gastropub is a gorgeous, rustic eatery that you must take advantage of while in Aalborg.

We decided on this place for dinner last minute while attending a conference and were worried we wouldn't get a table. Luckily they have an online reservation system that lets you book as late as 45 minutes before you want to arrive.

Although it has an upper level, the restaurant itself is pretty small and fills up fast! The atmosphere is far more pub-like than restaurant, and it feels so cozy for the delicious food they serve. I only ordered one vegetarian slider and a side of fries, and was stuffed when all was said and done. The slider was packed with lettuce, onions, and other tasty toppings -- definitely keep their "slider guidelines" in mind, as it would be easy to over-order!

We aren't big drinkers, but they also had a well-stocked bar and incredibly friendly servers. Highly recommend you give this...

I usually don't post unfavorable reviews, but unfortunately the food was simply not good and I fear not to health standards (the beer was decent). I had a burger with pulled pork which was simply a dollop of cold pulled pork (cooked but not reheated) slapped on top of an overcooked beef patty and that pulled pork had been cooked a while back (it tasted past its 'best-by' date). Others in my party had sliders with other pulled meat (duck and beef) and it was the same experience (cold dollops of precooked meat that had not been reheated). Had two sliders. The one with pork and grilled pineapple was very good. But surprisingly the fried chicken one was completely raw inside (about 80% of the thickness raw). Funny that I asked for those two in particular because of some reviews I read about the burgers being raw before. When telling the waiter, she changed it and didn't charge for it so their response was satisfactory, but this seems to be a rather frequent problem. My advise would be always cut your sliders/burgers in half before starting...
