Large and full of fascinating detail. We were so excited to stumble upon this cathedral during our walk around Aalborg. While the outside is a bit plain (although impressive and inviting), inside is a very well-maintained and marvelously decorated example of a Danish Lutheran cathedral. The white cathedral ceiling, with towering arches illuminated via high-fixed windows, is really picturesque. Budolfi is absolutely worth the stop.

Interesting kirk with loads of history. Very ornate and detailed decorative artwork. Large pipe organ which plays often. Entertaining bellflower. Well worth a visit if you in the area. Just for useless info, the entrance door is very poorly signposted and easy to miss. If you find the door, just push it hard and it should open..

Budolfi Kirke i hjertet af Ålborg er Danmarks mindste Domkirke. Den har rødder helt tilbage til 1100 tallet og afløste i 1554 Børglum Kloster som områdets Domkirke. På Ålborg Stifts hjemmeside er der en meget detaljeret beskrivelse af kirken og omkring 450 fine billeder. Domkirken tilbyder en bred vifte af aktiviteter for alle aldersgrupper, både gudstjenester, koncerter og forskellige former for fællesskab. Der kan kun i begrænset omfang parkeres ved kirken. Handicap indgang både af hoveddøren og på siden.

Aalborg har sin egen middelalderlige kirke og endda en af de mest majestætiske og flotteste kirker i Danmark. Nu har den så fået sin helt egen plads nemlig Budolfi plads som Aalborg kan være stolte af. Besøg kirken og pladsen det er det hele værd.
