We went to Restaurant ET in Aarhus for what was supposed to be a business lunch, and ended up sitting there for almost 7 hours. That alone says something about the experience.
We started with oysters, which were spot on. Served simply with lemon, a small crouton and sauce – really delicious. Then I had the beef tartare. It was good, nicely spiced and tasty, but very different from the classic style. Tartare is always interpreted differently: sometimes chunky, sometimes mousse-like, sometimes more like a salad. This one was very much like a tuna salad in texture. I liked it, but I personally prefer the more traditional version. Presentation also wasn’t as nice as I’d expect from a Bib Gourmand place. And the portion of fries that came with it was strange – literally 6 or 7 fries on the plate – though the bearnaise served on the side was excellent.
Dessert was also really good, beautifully made and very tasty. After the meal we stayed for cocktails, and they were absolutely amazing. The drinks kept flowing, and the owner even came around with chartreuse which was a really nice touch.
What really makes this place stand out though is the atmosphere and service. The restaurant is tucked into a little courtyard in the center of Aarhus, which is a beautiful setting. The staff were warm, professional and genuinely welcoming – not just during the meal, but for the entire afternoon and evening we sat there. Even though it’s a fine dining place, the vibe was relaxed and low-key, which made it feel comfortable.
All in all, a fantastic experience. Great food, top-class cocktails, beautiful location and some of the best service I’ve...
Read morePhenomenal French cuisine! Our appetizer, an interesting preparation of grilled summer vegetables garnished with a vegetable sorbet, and accompanied with crab salad and basil leaves, was an excellent opener for the affair. For my main course I enjoyed a light, expertly prepared red sole with julienne asparagus, sliced asparagus, hearts of palm, julienne broad beans and finished with a delicate white asparagus and butter sauce. Delicate would be the operative word for this lovely dish, with even the asparagus “mellowed” in its preparation. My wife enjoyed a freshly made agnolotti with Nduja, leek, artichoke, pepper, basil, parmesan and tomato paste with olive oil. We each sampled an excellent Bourgogne, hers a white and mine a red. Excellent service, fantastic preparation and lovely atmosphere projecting us...

It's has 2 menus. One classic French menu which has been there for several years now, and one modern menu which rotates every few months.
The starters and main courses were amazing and deserve a Michelin star for both the taste and the presentation.
The staff was friendly and Proffesional.
The prices were good when you think about the quality of the food, only the wine prices seem a little too high.
The only downside was the dessert, which actually was quite good, but compared to the rest was just plain ordinary.
Still I would recommend this place to anyone and I cant wait for...
