The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and well-curated. The food was generally good, with the desserts being the highlight for me. They were unique and showed a thoughtful effort to offer something different to customers. However, the restaurant is quite expensive, and a few things didn’t justify the high price. Despite the place being nearly empty, they ran out of bread when we asked for more, which seemed odd for such a large establishment. Additionally, we were politely asked to leave as soon as we finished eating because the kitchen had closed (we had only spent about an hour and a half there). While the request was made kindly and might be normal in Denmark, it didn’t sit well considering the price, which was close to what you’d expect at a Michelin-starred restaurant. Overall, the food was good, but I don’t think I...
Read moreI loved being at The Open Kitchen. I enjoyed eating and socializing here as well. Overall, a strong recommendation for a night out!
The seating is comfortable, the setting could be intimate, there are tables for many and tables for a few, and the staff were very engaged, supportive and positive. The food was delicious though some textures may not be to everyone's liking. For context, I ate here with around 45 other attendees from a nearby conference, and the staff were very supportive in preparing a menu specially for us, and ensuring that everyone was catered to. Many thanks to everyone working behind the scenes who ensured a great...
Read moreThere are several gluten free options but no glutenfree bread so don't expect to eat that in the beginning while everyone else at your table does. The sauces were all glutenfree if you buy those but would not recommend the very bland signature sauce. It's a nice atmosphere but the best food was the chilimayo which comes with fries and is super tiny, and even that was average. The meat was randomly cooked and not as asked. With the many delicious spots in Aarhus I cannot fathom how this place rates so high. We even got dirty glasses and had to ask for new. I recommend Madklubben or Köd any...
