Overcast with kitchen smoke
Our lunch at Brasserie Post was a dive into the realm of French cuisine with an unexpected twist. Nestled in Copenhagen, the brasserie offers a setting that promises more than it delivers.
Each dish we tried - Terrine de cochon, Saumon fumé, and Croque monsieur - was competently prepared but lacked the culinary flair that makes you crave a second visit. The flavors were there, but never quite taking the plunge into exceptional.
However, the most lasting impression wasn't left by the food, but by the smoky embrace from the kitchen. This wasn't the delightful smokiness of a well-prepared dish but rather invasive fumes that clung to our clothes with astonishing persistence. For more than a week, our coats carried a distinct reminder of our visit, a memento that we hadn't anticipated nor particularly appreciated.
In summary, Brasserie Post is akin to a book you finish but don’t feel compelled to pick up again. While nothing was overtly disappointing, there was also nothing compelling enough to beckon a return. A decent spot if you're in the area, but perhaps not worth a dedicated journey, especially if you prefer your...

I've been here for lunch 3 times and dinner once. I'm convince that lunch is the better choice for this place. I've been very happy with every lunch experience, and the detractors have all been during my dinner experience.
The service is a mixed bag, with some great and some truly terrible showings. But, that is about what can be expected in Copenhagen overall. For lunch, go for the classics and more fatty dishes, as they do those very well.
The dinner steak was an Onglet and it was very good. It was served in the most unimaginative plating one could dream up, but it was very good. Tasty, but looked like it came straight from a styrofoam box.
Wines were good and so were the oysters.
Definitely skip the cheese - absolutely terrible choice for us when we were there for dinner.
The room is large and the acoustics are not great. The music is 80s classics and loud. Not really in tune with the esthetics of a French bistro, but they never promise the cliché experience, so it is hard to fault...
Read moreWent for dinner. Beautiful building with a horrible interior design. Reminded us of an airport brasserie. So did the food which seemed mass produced. A dollop of salmon tartare thrown on one plate and a dollop of beef tartare smashed on the other plates, and the same salad garnish, no crunch or bread. Mains of a chicken burger assembled like a weird tower with bits and pieces sticking unevenly out that could fall to either side any moment and not looking delicious at all, and a lousy thin fillet of cod clumsily folded to look bigger with uninteresting garnish and sauce apart from a buttery potatoe mash. Desserts of a misunderstood deconstruction of risalamande - the x-mas dessert -...
